      The Florida Legistlature meets once per year, after they adjourn I look for new laws signed by the Governor.  Also, whenever there is an election in Florida, we may have new Constitutional amendments.

I wish more agents in my market understood and kept up with the RE laws. I see infringements everyday. That is quite the law you used as an example 

That is an interesting law and poses an issue that can happen at amy open house in America where a buyer asks about something else. 

I usually get an email from the Real Estate Commission or from Texas Assoc of Realtors about the new change.  My broker does the same with email blasts to all agents.

Our Governmental Affiars committees and lobbyist do a fantastic job letting us know about the issues.

I only pay attention to laws that impact my real estate practice. Beyond that, who has time?

WRA generally keeps us up to speed on these as well as our broker.

My office, our brokerage, our local association and state association are good at communicating the appropriate information.   The volume can be a bit overwhelming.

I try to keep up with the laws that impact me. We get alerts from the state association and our local board.

That regulation about talking to buyers about other houses during an open house without the seller's permission is quite an eyebrow raiser. 

If the seller refuses to let their agent discuss other properties, should the hundreds of agents in town holding other houses open be notified not to discuss the house of sellers who want to silence their Realtor?

If the uncooperative sellers disallow discussion of other houses during their open house, I suggest a reciprocal rule that requires that the seller's house be put in withdrawn status during the open house so that hundreds of Realtors holding other open houses will not have a reason to discuss the uncooperative seller's house either.

Also, a new MLS field can be created warning thousands of Realtors that the uncooperative seller's Realtor is not allowed to suggest any other listings during the hours of the open house. And, to be fair, all other Realtors are prohibited from trying to sell the uncooperative seller's home during the hours of the open house. Any third party Realtor's attempt to discuss, promote or sell the uncooperative seller's home will be unlawful.

At the open house, it will be mandatory to hire a bouncer who will check if the potential buyers are represented by other Realtors. Buyers with representation will be barred from entry to the house to prevent the uncooperative sellers from benefiting from the illegal discussion of their home by non-compliant Realtors. 

Try to keep up with Florida and lllinois!

real estate law or laws in general?  More attention is paid to new real estate law and rules and regulations, but I do watch the news and generally keep up with legislation in general.

Gotta love the state of Maryland! At least they give us an out from the absolute ban of past years

Our broker updates us on a changes once/month, here in CA they change forms and RE laws all the time, I can not catch up with all of them but make affords to attend legal webinars CAR provides us. 

We have a state convention for REALTORS next week and new laws, ones that did not make it and why, it is an afternoon discussion. I don't know why local agents don't attend their state Realtor meeting. The networking, the hospitality suites, the education with all the continuing credits for real estate license renewal is huge, a good value of time and money ROI. We don't do open houses and video has taken over the open house on demand on the buyer's time.

The state does a good job of sending out emails with the new laws.

I do.  I review the legal updates when they are published.  I may from time to time participate in a legal update Webinar sponsored by CAR - California Association of Realtors. I believe we are negligent in our duties is we do not keep up with the laws ... and follow them!

Jeff Pearl I've know a couple of agents who lost their real estate license because they neglected to know and follow the law. If you don't pay any attention during CE, at least pay close attention to the legal updates and case studies.

our broker/owner is very aware and keeps up with all changing laws....he filters them through the ranks of our firm....  we are all aware...

Florida Realtors does a great job of informing us about these.

Oh, they keep adding new steps to the choreography of the real estate transaction as managed by the real estate professional.

The consumer will say, "Stop of the BS and give me a simple solution."

And the role of the agent gets further diminished and the documents requiring signatures piles higher.

In the case you copied for us to read it appears agents at an open house CAN share with buyers others real estate currently available. Such action is important to reveal the subject real estate is competitively positioned. How this became an issue suggest other forces at work.

Those forces are normally identified in the joke, "What is 19 attorneys up to their neck in cement? A: Not enough to miss.
