Sounds uncomfotable. I've been stuck on an elevator, but never by myself.

I remember that happening in college... the drunk kids( I might have been that once or twice) would rock the elevator .... we'd  pry the door open and jump out!!!!

This sounds like the start of a Halloween story! 

Yes...it has happened to me but it was a long time ago.  A couple of times as I recall.   

I agree with Lise Howe -- it does sound like the start of a Halloween story or movie.    

Ouch, I found some humor in your post.  I am sure you had a fright. Hope it worked out or... Are you posting from the elevator.

 I personally have been fortunate to not have experienced being trapped in an elevator. I could only imagine how uncomfortable & uneasy that must feel.

I've never been stuck in one but I don't panic over those situations. I would probably be annoyed if I didn't have my cell phone to entertain myself while waiting...

Nope never been trapped in an elevator at all... I've stopped one a few times though ;-)

 My neighbor was stuck in one for an entire day.  

I haven't been caught in one but have helped two others get out. Not something I would've liked to endure from their reactions.

No I have not.  But beng close to the bottom would not be so scarry

Not fun!  Thankfully never been stuck in one (knock on wood), but I have been that guy checking to see if anyone was inside.

We don't have a lot of elevators in my area. But that's pretty funny. And no, in all my years I have never been stuck in an elevator. Thank God.

I've never been stuck in an elevator.  I always have my phone with me.  You never know when you're going to get in a "situation".  

I'd be calling the fire department if I were someone on the outside of the elevator. 

Thankfully, I have not been stuck in an elevator.

Dark, enclosed spaces are not a good situation for me. Add that to the ambush of imprisonment and panic is a strong likelihood.

Then there could be the flush of embarrassment when it is realized that the Crazy Cat Lady who has been complaining of a wonky elevator should have been taken more seriously.

Your closing line reminds me of all those movies with the "Call; the cops!" line with a 'We are the cops" response.

Briefly, I was trapped in our office elevator 2 weeks ago with 3 of my office neighbors, but was able to free us after only minutes of waiting.

Fortunately not - happy you survived to let us know!
