Great question..we all get writers block...I head over to the comparable homes in learn from those listings to gain ideas...not to copy but to inspire a story...Facts tell Stories Sell....hope that helps..keep rocking ... your questions are awesome to inspire my Day......cheers...

When touring the property, I usually make notes on what features and upgrades stand out and write about it.  Even when the home has an ugly paint/color and seller isn't willing to re-paint, we have to be creative in our description 

I take all those words floating around in my brain, and whatever I heard from the sellers about what they loved when they bought the house, and whatever struck me when I toured it, and somehow those all turn into a description. I think we should always try writing a great description for all homes!

My own creative juices.  I look at the property and the photos and I just let it speak to me ... then I start writing and tell the story.

I just create it on my own. I don't have any special resources though I have occasionally referenced a Thesaurus.

I ask the owners what they like about the home and make sure I include some or all of those comments in some form.   Typically, I brainstorm with words and features about the home, neighborhood and my previous listings to hopefully arrive at a description that works.   

when we list a unique home (antique home with a circa plaque) we write a very nice narrative describing the important details for the antique buff who is looking for the home that's centuries old...

It either copmes to me or I struggle. When I struggle I ask others to provide a description and combine the best comments!

First I think about what strikes ME about the home & consider the items that aren't obvious (recounting volume of bedrooms, baths and home style is a waste of characters in this space!).  I ask sellers if there's anything they want to be sure is conveyed in the remarks.  I use area comps as inspiration for what I want to (& don't want to!) say too when I'm faced with writer's block.

Ill ask the sellers what they like about the house and then I will expound upon it in the description..Another way to figure out what you will write is to think about who your target market is for the property and come up with a story/features that appeal to that audience.

Not sure what you mean by resources. Once I list a house I know what I want to highlight about it and start writing a description that suits.

Sometimes get inspiration from other homes in the area.  Usually just send it to my office assistant who does the ad copy.

I always asked the sellers what they liked best about the home, property, and area.  I tried to incorporate benefits of the facts and feelings in the description.

I guess I'm not getting it. I hate it when 'teams' write up the listing sheet & some goodies are there & some are not. Someone didn't see the house? Let's guess who didn't?

I use my own thoughts about he property and highlight the best selling features perspetive buyers would like.

I tell the story of the house, it's location and amenities...describe for readers the experience of living there.

This forum is a great way to warm up my creative juices.

We can only put so much in the " Remarks" in MLS. Photos and videos tell most of the story. For descripton, I just post the facts. Only resource is my brain.

Look what works with already listed exceptional homes. 

I try to use SEO practices because even MLS listing remarks get indexed. 

Sometimes I've asked the sellers what they liked about the home.

I use my years of experience.

I see most descriptors are full of adjectives often exaggated. I write it simple and provide a list of items added or permit year.  The home always sell themselves. You provide the ans.

Information received from public records, sellers, and observation. 

I do the rough draft and then my marketing assistant takes over.  Many eyeballs are on everything before it goes out.

There are plenty of good examples on MLS.

My first line resources are, depending on the nature of the properly is, JK Rowlings or Charles Dickens with the appended note from all the pharmaceuticals "....and sometimes fatal."

Of course I know who in our area has a flare for inspired descriptions. I'll visit the record of his historical listings and find the words that work for that location and asset.

"131 McGregor Blvd is a tale of two historical legends, one the namesake of the community, the other the never talked about secret of the vanishing cow."

I have some descriptive words written down to remind myself if I run out of words to use.
