This is an old, old story, I'm afraid. Even using html code from an active rain post gets wonky. I wish I had an easy answer for you Tim... but sometimes it takes me longer to correct everything than it takes to write the darn post!

Tim, when you drop the pre-written post into AR, be sure to highlight what you drop in and select the Tx button (below). That will clear the formatting and then you can format it yourself in your AR editor.

Some days you have to use that Tx button a lot.

Use the clear formatting feature. It is at the right end of the second line, at the top, of the options when you are posting a blog. 

 I echo Nina Hollander - asked and answered many times. The issue is an age-old one.  Debe Maxwell, CRS has shown you the way.  

I usually do not have this issue but I try to keep "templates" in draft here so I can just update those and schedule them (i.e. Facebook Fridays, just listed, just sold, market reports, etc.).  If I create something in WP, I copy/paste the html code and that works pretty well most of the time too.

Yes. I usually copy/paste from word press. Sometimes it copies perfectly. Sometimes it looks perfect until I hit "publish" and then it gets wonky and I have to try to fix it multiple times.

Yep it's a common issue. There are some things to try. I write in Google Docs  - copying and pasting from Word gets ugly sometimes

Clear your text using the TX button and reformat. The gremlins are at work.

I've not had issues when I've done that in the past (the source was an AR blog).  If you use a different editor to write (or source the content from another web page) and then paste to AR there could be all sorts of formatting issues because of how the original source formatted and coded it.  XML CSS issues and so on and so forth.

I have found copying and pasting severely wrecks a post.   Go into the source code, copy and paste into the source code of a new post.

Glitches in any form are frustrating.  I currently write my posts in GoogleDrive and then cut/paste to ActiveRain.  Not sure if there is any "perfect" solution.
