For commercial properties I will go up to an hour.
For residential properties, 30 minutes.
(My County is huge, but sparsely populated)

Trying to stay within a 40 min radius from my office. I once had a listing 1 hour away in another county but I teamed up with realtors from that area and referred any callers / potential buyers to them. It would have been absolutely crazy to drive there every time spend an hour with a client, there goes half my day. I did this because it was a past client that did not trust anyone else but me. I would not normally take on such a listing but definitely refer. Also do not feel comfortable giving advice in areas where I am not familiar.

Andrew, I typically stay within 10-20 miles, but I currently have two listings that are beyond 50 and I just closed a house that was 75 miles from home. Each one one has a particular reason, but I don't normally travel that far. 

In my market, "time" is often more important than "distance".  Many, if not most, of my appointments are based on that factor.  My decision to pursue or accept a listing involves that consideration as well as my ability to properly serve that client and property.  

I have ALWAYS had the opinion that closer is better.... and that hasn't changed..... I continue to market my town....and I don't go beyond it.... if the agents want to pick up a listing beyond my town and the abutting towns, they will need to service all of those listings just as they do the local ones....OR REFER IT!!!  THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE.

Depends on the property, Residential must be close to one of our offices, timberland can be statewide.

I serve a 35 mile radius to my office. Beyond that, I refer it to my team member that covers "that" area.

I don't like to go too far out of my service area .  If I do not know  the area I would rather refer to an agent who knows the area and schools  etc   Don't like to just put a sign up  put in the MLS and hope for the best ... Want to know the area I am selling when I receive a call

45 minutes drive time.  Maybe one hour for a high-end property.

I am in a rural area.  I travel an hour in all directions unless it is a higher priced property or a good client

I really try to limit myself to the immediate area (20-30 minutes). I'm too busy to be traveling a lot.

Any State I am licensed in is fair game

Most of my activities have taken place within a four county area.

I try and stay with in my market area. My leads come from that area also so it makes sense to Keep it Local.

Austin is growing so much no one can cover all the areas and understand the nuances of all the area..I stick to the NW part of Austin and would refer if it was South or East. Closer is better to the community I service. Service is always the key for my clients and if I'm not the best one than I'll refer to a trusted agent.

This is wholly subjected to the ease of access a Seller provides rather than a specific distance. Knowledge can span many miles which doesn't always require a physical presence.

It has to be reasonable. Vacant land is easier to deal with from a little bit of a distance, with homes I like to stay within a 30 mile radius. A lot of our area is semi-rural so that is very doable. Outside that, I would refer out. 

I work about a 50 mile radius around Charlotte, but that includes two states and 5-6 counties. Beyond that, I refer it out.

If it is outside my market area I refer it! Service is key and I may not be the best one to perform!

It depends on the circumstances. I prefer to list in my town, but make exceptions. The furthest listing I've had so far was about 45 minutes from my home office.

45-minute drive-time. Beyond that is not time/cost-effective for me so, I have referral partners in those areas (beyond my comfort zone).

I go probably 45 mins. from center of Denver maybe 1 hour

I stay within my set borders. Just the other day I had a listing appt that was right on the end.

I recently had a very special friend ask if I would list her home when the time comes, and is 1.5 hours away.   Currently, they are in a different MLS, and know nothing about the area.

Here in NH as we are really made up of 6 "cities" and a bunch of small towns some of which you can drive through in less than 5 minutes, i go 1 hour out. In my core area I market and sell in 4 of the 6 cities  and all towns in between all within 20 minutes from home and office. I will travel to hit from the MA border to seacoast to lakes to about 30 minutes to the west where it gets very rual. WIthin an hour i hit 6 of the 6 biggest population areas
