They say I am not, however, I froze all my accounts with the big 3 agencies months ago when someone tried to use my info to open a credit card, so I am not sure what else I can do at this point.

They are releasing the list on 9/13 so, we shall see then. I will say that we have freeze protection on all 3 agencies and only unfreeze in the event of mortgage application.

We only have a business and a personal credit card and pay cash for everything else, including vehicles. So, we are not planning to apply for any credit anytime soon (and unfreezing)!

Well that isn't surprising that stocks are falling.  CEO and top dogs sold out....that isn't surprising either.  It is so wrong. 

Right now it seems we are okay... my husband is monitoring closely. Sorry you were one of the 50%. They should be sued by the largest class action suit known to man... as much for keeping this a secret as for anything else.

News reports are if you use their website to check, you have to waive your right to sue.

We have freeze protection on all 3 agencies yet our credit card has been hacked 3 times in the last 45 days. They have issued us 3 new cards over this time period and are monitoring closly.

Everybody is on that list. They have everybodies credit history so everybody is most likely on that list, we just aren't being told.

Sounds like something that they should be arrested for, but the number of illegal actions happening in our country without prosecution is getting very large under the new justice department.

Caroline Gerardo. A few days ago, I called a very close friend who owns a credit reporting company. He told me to assume that your identity was stolen. His advice was a follows:

1) Register with Equifax

2) Register with Life Lock. You can elect different levels of protection. Some even include your 401 K and Retirement accounts.

3) Call your Home Owners insurance company and ask about "Identify Theft Insurance, The cost is about $50.00 a year. This will protect your home in case of any Judgments or Liens placed on your home due to Identity Theft. 

Finally...Check your bank accounts at least once a week ,preferably every day .......Good Luck

According to your links provided, so am it, but I just checked my credit report and I see nothing suspect.

I hope not as well, but checking against their system evidently has a clause that waives your right to trial. No thanks. This is going to have a huge lawsuit attached.

Caroline Gerardo Please be cautious accessing Equifax website. Today, I read an article about if you access Exuifax website to check your personal data, there is possibility you could give up your right to sue Exuifax.
