Sounds like a survey conducted by a photographer.
There is much more to renting homes than photographs.

A picture is worth 1,000 words and having brilliant photos is the ONLY way I will market a property - ever and in ANY price range! The internet IS your first impression and you know what they say about first impressions...
I believe NAR did a study and homes with professional photos sold significantly faster but, I don't remember the number. When homes sell faster, they typically sell for top dollar as well.

Totally! As I always tell my clients... today you need to first seduce them on the internet with kick-a$$ photos to get them to come and look at a home.

Global IP video traffic will grow threefold from 2016 to 2021, a CAGR of 26 percent. Internet video traffic will grow fourfold from 2016 to 2021, a CAGR of 31 percent."

Yes. Photos will get people to see the property. From there, the property needs to be able to sell itself more based upon location, cleanliness, rent, etc.

Absolutely! HQ photography is responsible for raising "values" on many things. From real estate photos to the advertisements in magazines, even our little photos on our business cards.

Quality photos help, but i don't know how much. Many properties sell or rent with terrible photos.

I think so absolutely. If the photos peak a buyer's interest thta gets them in the door.

You've got to get them to the door, and the only way to do that is with enticing pictures.

I was reading through the anwers hoping to see what realtors were paying for top notch. Hummnnn. So I will jump right in. I get amazing for $300. This one comes with a video of a racoon in the backyard. I get good all around (still of rooms etc) for around $100.

It depends on what you mean by "top notch" and "DIY". I do DIY and my photos come out really well. If I were to use a pro with the fancy pants equipment, it's true they might come out a little better. I've never had a problem getting my places rented though. At most 1 month of downtime.
With that all said, I think the content of the photos matters considerably! The up close and personal shots of faucets or the potted plant on the table - wasted photo. Making sure the room is well lit and clean, that's the key. I think that's what many DIYers miss out on.

Most definitely and I believe agents attempting to double-end their listings use this to their advantage by posting crappy photos or a limited number or a combination of both. However, that is a completely different subject. Good photos equal higher priced and faster sales; no question!
