Nothing new here for me.  Standard operating procedures.

I mostly list, but occasionally, am called to show one of my listings to someone who has not yet hired an agent. I'm happy to oblige, although I'm in a rural area where meeting at the office totally makes no sense logistically, and well, Starbucks is in the next town.  I guess we *could* stand in the parking lot at the nearby Citgo gas station and say hello first, but that just seems, well, weird.  

So, what's a girl to do?  I just take my husband along and apologize, saying we have an another engagement after the showing.  He slips my S&W Bodyguard 380 revolver in his pocket, as he takes his bodyguard duties seriously. 

I like to sit down and get the paperwork done before heading out to the woods or to look at homes.

My hubby is always concerned with my safety and, because of some issues that people were having in parking decks in some of our commercial buildings, recently purchased a Guard Llama for me.

I will write a blog about it! 

Being married to a law enforcement officer for the past 15 years I was ahead of that game.  I've had policy in place and have checks and balances systems in place for checking on agents in the field regularly.  

   Same as always.

Nothing new, just the same old common sense methods.

I did increase my life insurance...OH! Not what you meant. We all are in tune with the world we now live. There is always a new threat though, so we must continually adapt.

It's just me now so I am a bit too flexible. Daylight hours only!

I always try to ask many questions and listen carefully before first meeting, I also google them ( i'm sure, they google me too:) 

we are listing agents, and we do our research before we go....many in the office know where we are going.... we go in the daylight.... if it's an evening appointment at a home and  first visit, there are two agents who go together....

I have been following safety procedures for almost 25 years... it's nothing new to me. It's second nature to me after all these years. And I've never had anything untoward happen in all these years. At the end of the day, much of safety procedures is nothing more than common sense.

It is a very good time for all to review their personal safety procedures.

Meeting prospects at your office is a very good policy. 

Our market is moving so fast here, very hard to plan to meet before showing them a home. However, I always make sure that they are approved with a lender, and I have the letter. Just good business, and makes me feel a bit safer I guess. :) 

I have had basic principles in place. I am always looking for new safety practices. Do you have some in mind?

Safety first and foremost doesn't change with new month.

I guess, we still under standart operating procedures. 

Anytime I have a buyer or seller that I have not met and was not a referral, I am very cautious, and always think of my safety first.

We all should have implemented new and revised safety procedures. We only have 1 life and we don't get a do over if something were to happen.

No new ones for me lately, just time honored procedures I've had most of my life; including but not limited to common sense, the ability to fight and my working by referral business model, which minimizes and almost eliminates the freaks of the industry. There were three policemen in my family, so I was raised with and immersed street smarts.

Nothing new. My agents are savvy, we only work with people we know, and we're in a state that permits concealed/open carry without a permit so the number of predators is much lower.
