Quite the opposite. Dani and I work out Wednesday mornings. I run 4 miles at 4.5 miles per hour and do weights for about 45 minutes afterwards. Dani Runs 25 minutes and bikes for about 20 minutes and then does weights for about 45 minutes. We are drained afterwards and only work if needed.

It's every second day for me, or 3 to 4 times per week. For one, I think it helps your body handle the physical rigors of the business - in and out of the car, up and down stairs, etc... makes me feel stronger (younger?). I'm not sure if I'm more energized, but it allows me to be in a 'zen' zone, a time between me and myself, it connects the physical and the mental together - like a form of meditation. It brings a sense of inner peace.
I've been know to do it in the late afternoon as well. It helps you think trough problems, difficult situations, reduce stress, give pause, find solutions, slow down, etc... a step-back to go forward.
