Ask a mortgage broker to join you.  They're always looking for new business too.

Do you need someone to be present with you or you want them to have some experience and be able to talk to visitors? 

How about a lender?  They offer to do that in my area all the time.

Ditto what everyone said about having a lender participate with you.

Ask a newbie if they want to gain some experience or a lender looking for exposure

I wouldn't pay anyone to do that.... I'd offer to sit at theirs with or without them!!!

I suggest a friend or spouse. I have never heard of hiring someone for "security" during an open house.

What Jeff Dowler said. There are no companies out there as far as I know who offer open house "baby sitting" services.

You should ask one of your fellow agents or your manager. I'm sure someone would assist you.

No need to hire someone - take another agent with you, a lender, inspector, new agent in-training, or like my friend, Christine Donovan does, hire an ice cream truck to sit in front of your open house while you're there!

Your lender, insurance agent, title rep, etc. will all do it for FREE!

Title and loan people may do it. Neighbors, friends & the ole pay to play too

Another agent, a lender.  Nothing for hire per se. You need to be careful about having anyone there that is not licensed and perhaps providing information that requires a license. 

Check with your lender, most of them want business.

You can have anyone come with you as long as it's only you that talks real estate.

None that I'm aware of, but lenders usually jump at the chance out here.

If i can not et a co-worker, i bribe my friends with the purchase of their lunch or dinner. 

Ask your Lender Partner to sit with you at open house.  Generally  benefit both of parties. 

Never heard of paying someone for this.

So an agent uses a home inspector for babysitting at an open house. The agent then refers the home inspector based on his babysitting kindness and/or favors, but not for his inspection skills, abilities, and knowledge?

How would that even be morally right and/or fair to the homebuyer who thinks they're getting a legitimate referral for the most competent and/or best inspector and not one who just does nice things and favors for the agent? 

As many have said many lenders would welcome such an opportunity.

New agents are great source...

I usually call one of my trusted lenders, so they can answer any financial questions potential buyers may have.

Ask some lenders, inspectors, etc.

Bring a lender that can pre-qualify people on the spot or answer mortgage questions. Bring a new real estate agent looking to gain experience.

Joy, the very best way to solidify a working relationship is to ask for help.

Do not view is as a deficiency in our business sphere but as the opportunity to get to know another professional in a related business better.

I might ad, don' t create a 'spending time' environment but one of deliberate action and clear purpose. This means you must invest more in preparation, but that investment will pay bid dividends.

Have you ever experienced a 'NO' response when you said, "I need your help."  This is a magical phrase and if you honor those who lift their hand to help you by proper preparation, you world will change.

No reason to hire anyone -- why not ask a lender or any vendor to be at the open house with you(maybe a combination for a period of time)?  Promote their appearance with you -- could be a great marketing opportunity.

We used to always have our lender at every one of our open houses. 

We also would do open houses together so that we were never alone. 

And when I was alone, I would bring my teenage boys with me to all showings and open houses - they were great at keeping me safe as I did have a couple of stalkers back in the day before cell phones were used as much as they are now.
