Yes I would tell them to take a hike. I'm afraid that some people don't get when to stop negotiating. Had that happen last year & the tenant wanted $300 off because he thought that was the thing to do. Later he came back with a different agent & I told the agent to tell him to hit it.
Who wants to deal with this during the entire tenancy? I'm sure it will be a hassle with everything.

My thought is that I'd tell the "prospect" to walk and not your agent. There are limits in every tansaction.

YOu do have to be very clear. I am happy to tell applicants " It appears that this may not be the house for you" When they complain about price, location, condition, etc. One lady wanted a discount because there was no walk in pantry on a tiny 3 bedroom house. Another wanted ceiling fans installed in all the rooms.(the house did have AC) Everyone can ask, but i am clear of what will happen and what will not. At that point, they can make the decision to move forward or now, but I wont keep havingthe same conversation over and over. Fun times!

Depends on the 'other' options available to the prospect tenant.
Every landlord suggest is a fair price in a hot market.
Every renter and buyer share a different opinion.
Everyone who works hard for their money should be perpetually asking for lower price, more service, additional upgrades and as many features as possible.

NO! We had a guy try to get the price down and I flat out said no. Then I said do you want to rent it or not? He did and that was the end of that silliness. He is a good tenant.
