I visited a "largely automized" food venue in Florida a couple of months ago...  It was GREAT! My order was accurate and the few workers there were pleasant and efficient.  My take away? More machines, less people please.  These jobs weren't ever meant to be a "career".  IMHO, those driven to achieve the dream of homeownership will find a way out of the drive thru to make it happen (& maybe live longer too!).

I'm an activist for my family, friends and community. Those above will have to miss me, I'm otherwise engaged.

It takes time, planning, preparation and discipline. Those who want and work toward it will attain it. The biggest mistake made for our industry was when it was decided that home ownership was an entitlement. It's the ultimate privilege.

The ONLY thing I use McD's for is to use the restroom.  Sometimes I don't even do that because they are so filthy.  No, I will not particiate in an manner whatsoever.

As long as the meeting and protest is not in LA County or causing any sympathy marches in LA County, I don't care.  We've already had our share of "March for 15" events out here. 

People don't realize:

1. A minimum wage job is a stepping stone, not a career.
2. Increasing the wages requires increasing the prices of goods and services or finding substitutes like chemically created fries and "meat substitute" that are already in use.
3. Increased cost of workers makes outsourcing them or replacing them with machinery much more affordable.  Several fast food chains have already started replacing cashiers with kiosks and have seen lines behind the kiosk and no one using the actual person to place an order.
4. Increased price of goods and decreased entry level jobs, leads to the same situatuion as before, if not a worse one.

Oh hell no...not even if they were giving away free burgers...you know the ones with amonia in them.

Some businesses operate on shoestring budgets. Bad weather, news and acts of God or man can be fatal. Now less hours not more will take place. Customer service at risk with smaller or same size paychecks....The increase is really a decrease in disguise...
