A nicely staged home would likely have been nicer than a couple of examples of "stuff" left behind I have unfortunately encountered(albeit on rare occasion) over the years.

Nearly.  The last settlement I had the stager wasn't getting her crap out until the buyer provided a commitment letter.  Mind you, I had the buyer...and we had delivered a commitment letter for the loan.  I think he just forgot to tell her to come get her stuff.

I just did a month ago, sold th emodel home of a new home community, They were suppose to remove furniture, repaint kitchen, living room and halls then clean carpets. 2 weeks before, then a week before, called every day and they did it the night before closing. The morning of, walked through expecting nothing to be done and it was. They never called us back wth any updates in 2 weeks. 

Perhaps the furniture is a gift?

Yes, we call the stager and thank them for the furnishings gift unless they remove them within 24hrs. I stay on the listing agent, but it happens.

A REALTOR® that works with me does the listing and has his own staging so we avoid that but this would be a problem.

Home staging is not a real issue in our market. We have some homes staged, but more are not.

It's not been an issue with staging but a couple of time with sellers not gone when they said they would be.

Thankfully, I haven't had to deal with this specific situation.  Otherwise, I'd have them set the staging on the curb for pickup.

Some people quit paying attention after the contract is signed and contingencies removed. It is not over until it is over!

Pretty weird that someone 'fogot their stuff'. Maybe an illness but it has to go so get on with it right?

Turned out the stager did not have storage space available and was stalling, waiting for a new listing to become ready to receive this material. They were successful. A little inconvenience and it all worked out for everyone.

Staging is usually very expensive in my hood and it is removed in a few days after request.
