I had to look it up, surprised to hear that there was an assn for these often under paid and under appreciated agents.

Did not know there is such an association. My initial reaction was it might be worth joining just to see what they offer. Then I noticed it is $220 per year OR a $135 set-up fee PLUS 9.99 per month. The fact they charge an upfront set-up fee makes me suspicious. There doesn't appear to be any free trial period and the refund policy is a bit convoluted.
Let us know if you decide to try it and give us a review.

I have been a member since 2014 and have had the C-REPS designation since 2017. I'm not sure about these set up fees or monthly charges since I never experienced them. A matter of fact the only fee is a yearly membership fee of $75. The course and designation is free, but you do pay $75 and must get certified on a yearly basis. The organization is basically a data base of competent REALTORS for banks and BPO companies. The data base also gives the agent a chance to use a reverse data base to find work from legitimate banks and BPO companies. It is not necessary to be a member, but all REALTORS should be aware some illegitimate BPO companies will use you and never pay you! The C-REPS designation (Certified Real Estate Pricing Specialist) and NABPOP membership are great for marketing especially when finding REO's!

Mick Michaud - I have not heard of them. If they are in BPO, I have not done BPOs either.

Sounds hokey, with an upfront fee and monthly charge. Not for me, thanks.

I had to check the answers out of curiosity. I used to do 50 BPOIs a month including commerical ones in the meltdown years. Glad I don't do them anymore.

Since I've never heard of it I doubt it has any value to the public. Keep your wallet close & closed.

I got good BPO/BOV training via Real Estate Pro Guides. I think $125 one time. I don't know if they're still around or not this was 7 years ago. I had no need to join NABPOP after that.

I am not aware of this association and would say if you have researched it and are still in doubt you are better off passing.

I have heard of this group, but didn't join. I took the BPOR course because I wanted to see if I knew as much as I thought I did. I passed the final test with a 100%. I also found a mistake in the course and pointed it out. There really is no benefit to have either certification.

Doesn't sound like anything I'd be interested in
But hey, pay the fee and let us know how it works out for you

I complete quite a few of bpo's. I can say i did not join because i did not see the cost bringing back a return greater than the cost. I aim to complete 2 bpos a day and can average 2-4 very easily in between doing all the duties of a listing and selling agent. I have mad rushes where a bank or asset mamanegent company can assign 10 or 20 at a time with 5-7 days to complete. Here are my keys, choose the companies that actially assign listings and choose those first. If i have free time I may grab orders from a bpo mill if they pay well and are in an area i will be in. It is great extra money. knowing how to complete a bpo quickly and correctly the first time. A bpo should take less 30 minutes to complete and do it right. the time to go get pictures should be less 30 minute round trip. I like to get pictures in my travels so i am not going out of my may aka wasting time. DO a good job and they will hire you again.

As Corinne Guest, Managing Broker said, move along...your time as a real estate agent is far more valuable than what they pay!

All memberships can be exploited if that was determined BEFORE you give them your money.
In this case, the client is the bank. How will YOU use Na-boop to open the door to the bank's asset managers office.
IF this is not your plan, you are consigning yourself to a "exchange time for money" arrangement which is NEVER good for a profit minded business owner.

We did BPOs and never heard of this organization. We got along just fine without, but it also wasn't a main part of our business, just a secondary as we had time sort of thing. I suppose if you want to make it a primary income generator for your business maybe it is worth it, I dont know. Does it get your foot in the door with banks for REOs?

I did not know such association existed. I would just skip along and invest on other marketing products. I did lots of bpo during the recession, however, that market is dwindling due to recent shortage of foreclosures.
