Use a dog to manipulate readership, I'd never.

Any special breed I should be utilizing? Anything to raise readership is helpful.

It does not seem to make a difference, some of my posts include the dogs and others do not, yet about the same response on both.

I did have a secondary blog here on AR in a different area that featured me & my dog. 'Blog Dog' loves Bartlett.  Everyone seemed to like it but I got burned out trying to keep up with content on both accounts. 

Both of us now have more grey hair I might mention ....

I would say that blogs with great pictures that illustrate the blog are well received, and if the subject is a dog....The members love animals.  A

Anyone whoknows me knows that I ❤️ dogs.  I'm a pet fanatic but leave the pooch out of business and that means your business photos and anything that depicts your business.  That's unless you're selling per stores of course.  If you blog your dog make sure it has meaning like a local dog park or such.  But please no dog on your business photo no matter if he/she is cuter than you are. 

Dogs are very popular and more popular in some circumstances than some people. So probably so. Thank you for calling this morning.

How about cats?  I must say, I get more facebook likes when my post involves gushing about my dear Freddie than any other topic I post....guess you are right.  Here now my able assistant Freddie at work!

Works like a charm. When we did short sales it softened up the people we worked with at the bank.

   No.  However, blogs with cats evoke a greater response.

I'm not sure greater response..it depends on the audience.

I have offered my dog the chance to contribute a post and he just sits and stares at the screen! 

I admit, dog posts get my attention!

Peter Mohylsky - my market report posts do not have dogs in it! And I still get about total of 6,000 views every month (about 25+ posts).

I think endearing photos in general may garner greater responses - dogs, cats, kids, flowers, pretty scenery, etc. 

People love dogs (and animals) and will check out posts with these. Years ago a local agent started advertising herself with her dog. This was way before it became a trend. And the effort worked very, very well as it made her stand out from the crowd.

most people like dogs....but that's not my favorite type of post.... 

If the blog audience are dog lovers, they probably do as long as you've got a great photo of a dog!!!   

Perhaps for dog lovers. But any photo is likely to enhance the post and perhaps readershp and comments. But none of us like that ugly dog with the blue sunglasses!

I think the dogs work for a certain demographic.

Not sure about blogs, Peter Mohylsky but, anytime I post dog or cat pictures on my social media, they are 'liked' twice as much as most others!  People just love fur babies!

Not me, no pets. SOme times it is cute and others it is like enough already. 

Dogs seldome respond.

However, like-minded PETA sympathizers will.

My new puppy could star in them !

Blogs with pictures probably get more readers than blogs without. Dog pictures might get a greater response from dog lovers. Otherwise, I'm not sure the dog would make a difference in response rate!

I have no idea... we could ask the same question about blogs with kids, cats, etc. I use dogs, cats, kids when appropriate to the topic.

Photos are always interesting.  I love dogs so I would probably respond. 

I have not tried it myself.  A-B testing would be a way to find out.

It seems that there are no end to pet postings on social media these days.

You have mixed results when blogging about dogs or cats. Many will appreciate efforts to support the adoption of pets.

I've never considered it but might need to work my Max into a piece and see what happens.

Not sure but consideration for  a dog ranks higher on home buyers list than almost any other consideration. ... so draw your own conclusions

Pets do give a warm and fuzzy feel to a blog.

I am all for it as it breaks-up the boredom and dogs are dear to my heart!

Two years ago I rescued a dog that I found as a bloody mess. I turned him into the shelter. They fixed him up. Turns out the vet believes his wounds were caused intertionally...that means by a person. The shelter called me to see if I wanted him because they wouldn't be returning him to his former owner. 

I've blogged about this. I did end up adopting this dog. I have followers because of this. I really appreciate when members are looking for updates on Lucky and me. 

We do have a story to tell. I don't sell my dog, but he's a part of my life and has become a part of my blog.  

He's also an amazing dog and I've taken this abused animal and done a lot with him. He's also done so much for me as well. 

Recently he saved my car from being broken into. It was late at night. I was up. He went crazy growling and barking and wanted out. I opened the curtin to see a guy checking to see if my car doors were locked. If it weren't for my dog, I don't know what would have happened next. A broken window perhaps? I haven't written about his episode, but I think I should. 

I am not sure about dogs, but I do a blog with cat pictures every so often and it seems to get a lot of comments, haha.

I might have to say yes, my yearly xmas card typically has a picture of my pups and I tend to get the most responses back from them.. But then again they are awfully cute.

We had one realtor out here who's dog wrote her newsletter and I think did stuff for the listing as well.  It was her gimmick and it worked!

I do not know.  I believe animals in general offer a fun, peaceful, loving kind of feeling ... that can't be a bad thing.

Blogs with dogs are probably just as popular as blogs promising to help you make more money.
