That is your body telling you to stop and rest. Send texts and emails and if you have an associate that can handle your business, pass it off for a couple of days. Get well soon.

Just leave an out of office email and state why and have some leave a VM for you stating why you are not answering!

Can you communicate through email or text? Or refer the client to someone who can handle your business for you while you are sick? Most clients understand someone being ill and will make accomodations for this.

I'm 47 years old and have never had laryngitis. Strange.

I contact one of my agents to take over my work load.  They will do that as I do it for them.

Text message and email.  Thank goodness for them.  Laryngitis happens to me like clock work once a year.

As for the flu, you probably need to take some time to rest.  One of the many reasons, as a sole agent with no team, I value my agent friendships so much.  We cover for each other when things like this happen.

I'm so sorry to hear you are not feeling good! My Geno had his mouth wired shut for six weeks (that's another story) after his dentist broke his jaw and I answered all his calls:).

I don't get sick like that but if I do my wife is my partner and I can still type.

I have not had that issue.  Depending on the client / customer, perhaps you can communicate by computer or have another agent / person handle your business.

Tylenol, vitamin C loading, Fluids and salt to keep-in the fluids longer....

If you have an appointment to show properties, let the buyer know that another agent will show the propeties as you are out sick. Compensate that agent for her time.  Take days off and update your email and voicemail that you are out. I hope you feel better soon!

I hear you and have been fighting through the last 3 weeks, last Sunday I went down and straight the Emergency room. 5 days later meds are working but it is tough in this business for sure Hella Mitschke Rothwell , hope you feel better

Oh, Hella, I hope how soon you feel better!  That nasty flu has been rampant here in Charlotte too.

I have my assistant cover for me or you can have another agent help you until you feel better.  

If my wife contracts laryngitis it is awful peaceful and quiet at home.

I simply send a text to anyone who is trying to reach me and explain the situation. People understand. The last time this happened to me, one of my clients popped over and left home-made chicken soup on my front porch for me and then texted me back to check the delivery on my porch.

Being sick is awful!  Do you have anyone in your office you trust that can cover for you?  They could leave a voicemail on your phone directing calls to them or when someone leaves you a voicemail just forward it to them to respond and follow up with the customer/client by email to let them know what is going on.-Kasey

I would not put them off... or you may loose them.  I would refer it to another agent in my office... giving up 25% is better than giving up 100%

if you have the flu and a fever, just relay that to the client....I'm sure they don't want it.... but if they're in a rush to buy, you may need to venture out....but you should give them the option of working with you or referring them to another agent.... I'd be livid if you didn't tell me....and/or give me some options....

I carry on to the best of my ability.  I take as much time as possible to take care of myself - resting when possible and then just do what needs to be done. I had this feeling like crap experience when I was doing the chemo-treatment thing ... I worked because there were no other options for me. It is difficult. I get laryngitis often and I think it has affected my voice.
