In real estate I push forward until I can't push anymore.  But in exercise if it hurts stop it!

i've never experienced that.... I put my blinders on and I focus on me and my team....and if someone needs help, I'm there to assist...and I do.... but I don't socialize with anyone in the office....it's all business and they understand my attitude....

I ask myself that question every single day... and then I power through and get reminded every day just why I do do this. But I did quit running 28 years ago when my knees hurt too much. I'm not a masochist at the end of the day.

When disillusionment sets in, take a short break! If you come back and feel the same, coinsider other options!

When I had my knee scoped I went to biking and more tennis. Change is inevitable.

My own saying always stays in my mind, "Ride the wave or get sucked in by the undertow".  Some business days (like running days) are fantastic and we feel good and are on top of the world.  Then there are those days when every challenge that could come up does and we question why we continue to do it.  At that time we have to just decide if it's worth it and/or if we love it enough to take the good with the not so good.

Take two aspirins and call me in the morning.  

An attitude adjustment may be a good solution.

Very interestin post and great comments.  Your motivation does come with from within,but happiness is an important part of life.

I like pushing myself forward, but things are changing and we have to adjust and adopt. 

I have had several times over my career when I question is there something else I would rather be doing and the answer is always no. Hang in there and it will get better.

The effort required to get through a difficult time is far less than required to start something new.

If you are talking about running (as in jogging), we did for a year or two.  Then one day, we were at the UCLA track running in circles, and I felt like a hamster, and that was the end of my running days, and yes we still work out.  If you are talking about life, it sounds to me that you need a real break and reassess when you are fully rested.  A

Be an Ostrich until the storm passes by, pull your head out of the ground and start fresh.  It works.

Life is full of changes, some are major turns in the roads, and others just minor adjustments.

I haven't experienced that, Annette. If I did I'd take time to evaluate why I am feeling "sour" and decide to change whatever is the cause. Maybe that means changing my attitude or actions, or maybe it means changing my work environment.

I knew it was time to leave CB when I was bringing more to them than they to me. No sour grapes, no bad relationships, I simply outgrew Coldwell Banker. It was time to stretch and challenge myself with self imposed change outside my comfort zone...so I signed with BBR and opened my own office.

I would go swimming instead.  More fun and easier on the joints.

I keep pressing through because I know that clarity is going to come.

     If it doesn't wear off, move on to something new.

I keep running. I keep running. I look/reflect back only to see/ponder the lessons learned and chart the course forward.  There may be times to pause yet ultimately the goal and plan is to just keep running ... just keep surging, pushing, walking, crawling .... F O R W A R D. 

This is in response to life and business.  I no longer physically run for exercise. 

That depends actual pain is there for a reason telling you to STOP if you can tell the difference between muscle fatigue and join pain.. with joint pay my advice is stop. Get it checked out, muscles will repair abusing joints will not REPAIR.

I haven't experienced that. I guess if I did I would be looking at way to bring myself out of the funk. If that means changing offices...so be it. I've done that before. At least a time or three. 

If it's a recurring item, maybe there is a reason it happens every January 1.  I'd examine why I'm feeling that way and determine what needs to be done.

In my past work life, it hurt ever so much when I ran... so I ran a different direction (you could argue that I switched to the elliptical!).

Luck I am my own broker,  If I have a down time, time to listen to a Ton Ferry Youtube.  That will remind you postive things.

Don't run, do yoga and stretch (not that yoga doesn't hurt...), it's more gentle.

I run for the challenge and for the community. It's all about commitment, diligence, and improvement, but also surrounding yourself with likeminded, supportive people! 

I've thought about changing industries but haven't as of yet - still playing the "energizer bunny" role

Haha! I can relate, Annette. I am a competitive rower, and often finish last. At the start of every race, looking at my tall, lean, fast competitors, and knowing the pain to come during the all-out effort of racing, I ask, "Why am I here?"  The answer:  Having a goal - to be faster each year - keeps my training on track.  The same concepts transfers to my business. Better to be on the field and finish last than not be on the field at all!

I no longer run

I like working in an environment where I have supportive colleagues and a good broker.  That's why I am at Long and Foster.

This season starts OK. Every agent tells me there are no sellers.

We got this storm one after another.  I am not able to get my second listing.....Got one but it was promised in early Nov nothing coming in the pipe line.

One newer agents told me she did $80M last year as a newer agent.  Another new agent she told me she earned 7 figures in commission.

I just started 4-5 days ago taking Cosomine 3x a day because my joints are always in pain, mainly my right shoulder which has limited movement. Just keep going, it could be worse.
