I own a timeshare membership and I have never seen such high pressure sales in my life. If you're going to use it they are great but if you quit using it ;it gets expensive real quick and it's hard to sell ....

I have a Marriott time share (2 weeks) - 2 bedroom water front in Maui.
Advantage - You can split up the 2 bedroom and get 4 weeks out of it. You couldn't touch 4 weeks ocean front for the yearly fees you pay.
Disadvantage - Resale is terrible but renting them out - you can make money. Now Marriott is selling "points". Stay away from that. You still pay maintenance fees but Marriott can raise the amount of points for your stay whenever they want. If you own, all you pay is maintenance.
Bottom line - I would NEVER do it again!
