I don't touch zippo with a ten foot pole. And we have no desire to reach out to FSBOs who are marketing their properties on zippo. The site is your competitor for SEO, traffic, they have driven the price of Google PPC up, etc. 

Learn to fly under the radar of them. Find a niche. There are riches in the niches. And guess what, the right niches that you can dominate on line, zippo can't. 

I don't go near Z... learn to market yourself and you won't need to rely on anyone to give you leads.... the potential clients will find YOU....

Never done that!  I'm a 'sphere' gal myself!  They are much more reliable and a lot less time-consuming!

It's never occurred to me to reach out to a "make me move" guy because, in areas I'm familiar with, the prices are so into the ionosphere they don't fit by seller profile - which is not a crazy!

You'll do better to build and work your sphere of influence, and I'd recommend a Brian Buffini or Joe Stumpf workshop if you are new and want to learn how.

The best way to convert anybody over to your client list is to prove your worth. Talk is cheap, show them what you have to offer.

For FSBOs, get face to face with them. Ask for an appointment to preview the house so you can keep up with the market inventory. While you are there, leave some info that will actually help them sell it themselves. ie sold comps, properties for sale, a property disclosure and/or any forms necessary to make it happen. The amount of paperwork can be very intimidating when it is sitting in front of them.

When something else goes under contract, drop it off and say hi.

They are probably not ging to sell it themselves so you are setting yourself up as the agent who helped and did not tell them they were doing it all wrong.

Or you could just hound them into submission.

I have not tried reaching out to them.

I explain what z is and then show themthe destruction that they haave caused.  I keep documentation of my clients nightmares.
