We have very few of them in our area.

they are difficult all year round. . . some may be more motivated this time of year, needing to sell quickly. . . just be persistant

It depends on why they are selling it themselves. if they hate REALTORS® then that is year round.

It seems the same. most will pay a commission if you bring in a buyer

Our selling season starts now and the summer FSBOs are now listing with agents to take advantage of the season.

Don (James) Shab - this should have nothing to do with the time of the year!
The moment they approach their deadline, they want to work with the Real Estate Professionals.

I've never had much luck with FSBO's no matter what time of year.

Couldn't say for sure. With our limited inventory I think some expect they can easily sell because of buyer demand. It's not a niche I work

Good question, I avoid them all year long.

They will work with Buyer's agents... but getting them to list is always a challenge.

time of year? Things are still OK here until the snow flies. I personally don't talk with them.

Our market is shrinking and this is a better time for FSBO's to get activity than any other time. Now they still need representation and I don't recommend going solo.

Don (James) Shab I've never found FSBO's willing to work with REALTORS(R). However, some find they are better off if they do.

If the house has been on the market for a long time, FSBO are typically ready to sign the dotted lines if they want to close the transaction by the end of the year.

They are the same, all year around. Also, they are approached by so many realtors who promise the same things.

Don, I do not believe the time of year is a factor … at least not in my area.

I think fsbo's are usually open to cooperating with buyer agents.... often a tough close for a listing agent, unless the homeowner has had a bad experience with a buyer's agent!!!

It's likely more about the individual attitude/approach versus any seasonal aspect.

In almost 25 years, I've never approached a FSBO and not likely to do so anytime soon. A few have been referred to me after they failed to sell.
