If I was buying, yes, I would have radon test for house on slab.  Any fissure in ground can allow radon gas to escape.

It's rare to have radon testing done in our area but buyers are notified it is one of the many inspections/evaluations they can do. From what I have seen and read the levels are very low in our county

I've lived in a first floor condo on a slab that required mitigation. Cost me about $1500 to fix. Concrete is porous at the micro level and homes are much tighter these days. Consequently, houses on slabs should be tested for radon in MHO.

It is rare to have them done in my area unless it is a totally underground basement home with no door to the outside from the basement.

We have an out of County inspector rarely tested. On granite counter top red granite reading is high.  Ventilation is the key.

You have much probability to get run over by an automobile , get cancer from wireless router, second smoke than exposing low doasage of Ra.

Right now I am breathing soot from the Santa Cruz fire.  The red flame retardant may not be safe.

It might be necessary if there is a cut into the foundation for any reason like plumbing etc. Any place there is earth contact you can have radon. It doesn't matter with a basement or not. I leave it up to the buyers to decide.

Never had one done on any of mine whether on a slab or with a basement.

Don't know if they are ever necessary, but the do offer comfort for some.

Radon is also rare in my area but, I refer the buyers to radon.com and let them decide if they want to have a radon test performed during their Due Diligence period.  It's totally their call and not up to us to state an opinion on the subject.

Radon is common in my area. I'd suggest buyers test, even if with a slab - there could be cracks in the slab and radon gas could be getting in.

In So Cal I've only seen one radon test done in the last few decades.  It was done by a buyer who had that as a top concern.  It just isn't a concern out here.

Radon testing is not a requirement in NC. Buyer needs to ask for it. It might also depend on the area you are in if radon is a major factor.

Here in NH it is done, 1 is usually put in a br and the other in the living room on a 1 level slab home. Radon can come up through the slab.

Absolutely - radon can be a silent, odorless killer if undetected and can be fairly easily mitigated if detected.
