It really depends on the purpose of the item and its use. A

Not if you are an antique dealer or a winemaker or spirits distiller.
Oh yeah, and not if you are a Realtor. Us old dogs are better. Ah yeah, I said it.

Newer what? Hair do? House? Job? I assume you mean AR since that seems to be the topic these last 2 days. I'm happy overall. "Better" is pretty complex in the case of AR

Sometimes it is out of our control. I agree with you Annie. In time we will get used to change.

Well, sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it's more complicated than that!

Depends what you are referring to... sometimes newer is better and sometimes it's not.

It depends on what the new thing we're discussing is.
A new house is not always better if the buyer is a lover of vintage.
A new bottle of wine might not be better than an aged bottle.
A new pair of shoes might not be better than a nice well-worn pair.
and on and on....

Annie Adjchavanich - the only thing constant is CHANGE - and we are used to adopting the change.
For me, the answer is 'YES'!

Well, 'yes' and 'no'! I do think progress is better than being stagnant, though there are many 'older' things that I do like Annie Adjchavanich. I don't think 'newer' is necessarily better, though it obviously depends on the topic.

Only in computers, most other things seem to be better in the more vintage varieties.

Of course newer is better!
The whole purpose of 'newer' is to separate folks from their money when they haven't quite caught on and for many in business, that is better.
My doctor is the most recent example. Demanded 'visit' money the day I was there. Later my insurance paid for the visit. The doctor was intending to keep my money AND the insurance money. This doctor makes more money because many have not quite caught on the the new way they are being separated from their money.
Newer is better! It is always well advised to keep watch on what's going on behind the 'NEW' curtain.

Annie Adjchavanich I would say it depends on the age of the item. Is it an antique, like new or brand new?
4,936,705

It depends.
It's just like those who say the good ol' days are better and others will say the best is yet to come.
Sometimes it's about perspective. Sometimes it's just an opinion.
