You should never use IE. Like, who uses IE in this day and age?

Firefox, Chrome and Safari are far superior and much safer.

So it is not even the issues you are having while blogging that are near as important as the security breaches and viruses you get from IE. The issue with IE is that is run by people at MS who are paid to work there. They only work certain hours. They are not in a rush to plug of breaches, it can wait til the next work day.

But Firefox is open source, it is one of the safest browsers to use because programmers all over the world notice the hacks and breaches so quickly and they are patched so much faster.

Safari is super safe. I use Safari on my macs all the time unless I am checking the SERPS, then I use Chrome. Because Apple has such tight control over what can be allowed and not, Safari is clean, fast and safe.

My 2 cents. Katerina

Peter,

IE  is the least with it browser.  I know that because when our web developer adjust the web sites to each browser, IE is the one that needs the most tweaking.  It is not an Active Rain issue,  in my opinion.  A

Generally you want to be using chrome for most of your browsing needs. Ie has a lot of background plugins that generally slow a lot of normal internet activity. This is coming from a guy who has a high powered computer and even than IE lags. Hope that helps

I draft mine in Word, much faster and less likely to have a post vanish.

As far as the speed, I do have problems with lag time on AR, but most of the time it is due to having too many tabs open at the same time.

Did you have a lag from any other non-AR web site?  That should give a clue as to where the problem lies.

It may be your browser, but it also may be your computer or a virus - without additional information it is impossible for anyone to know which it is.

Chrome is a PIG - pure and simple - I abhor it, it is slow, it is a tracking system and has more virus openings than windows!

I've use IE here with no problems - I also don't have a lot of add ons either!

When you experience these types of slow downs, you need to look at your hard drive light and see if it is blinking - if it is, something is access it and slowing you down - not necessarily a virus

Also, if you are logged into G or bing as example, they are tracking you and can slown you down significantly!

So you need to look at your networking light - either on your router or your computer - there are programs you can get that monitor network traffic to see if you are being "phished", scanned or producing abnormal network traffic - often cause by either a virus, addon or cookie

Like I said, not enough information to pinpoint the cause

It's happened to me occasionally in both IE and Chrome when writing both posts and comments so I just assumed it meant that AR was experiencing high traffic.

One thing I notice when it happens (which isn't often) is that it usually does so when I am writing a long comment or post.

I now write most of my posts in Word then copy and paste. You might want to try that.

And, if you haven't already done so, try clearing your cache.

Unplug your router, count to ten, plug it back in and this may help is all I know at this time. Routers are like freeways where they become clogged & jammed needing to be reset or it slows down everything. Some people have their routers on a timer that turn off and on automatically
