I heard that webinar and was not impressed. A reiterate that I am not into scripts and have succeeded in this business for 25 years without them.

Some people may need scripts, but I have always had the gift of gab, which has served me well in many situations with buyers and sellers. I really don't think I can sit still for this webinar but thanks for sharing it with us.

Scripts are a great place to start because they definitely answer the question what do I say next. Again, not for everyone and just as starting place.

Randy Hilman, Associate Broker, GRI, CBR - the script has a limitation of the language! I believe in dialogs. (Still, stick to the basics.)

No change in my position. I'm a guy, once I've made up my mind that's it! You might as well be asking a Ford person to drive a Chevy!

I am not a script type person ... I perfer to be down and dirty real and have a conversation that flows.

Scripts definitely have value, especially for new sales people. They also have value to seasoned agents as a basis for talking points. It is good to know scripts but you also need to be flexible enough to get off the script to respond genuinely to the person you're talking to.
I know when someone is using a script on me and I hate it. That said, though, I usually am patient in letting them "practice" their scripts... so they can get better and be less rigid with it.

Again, scripts are great to keep a person in the know. Overall, people want to know that you are real and that they can trust you.

Randy,
Bob Stewart is a wonderful caring person leading Active Rain. I am certain he is aware that all agents are not the same. Some agents do very well with scripts and some do not like them and do very well. One size has never fit all and never will. We are all different and respond differently. A

And if ones business presents a 'Unique Value Position' how will a script convey that value in a coherent fashion?
Scripts are great for a 'one size/solution fits all' mentality, but that is not the world in which we live.
As the comments of those preceding me make clear, how one starts/newbie and how one finishes/five years+, regarding scripts, is entirely different.
For most newbies a script is much more effective that 'winging it!"

Scripts if practiced are nothing more than dialogue and a way to lead the conversation. I prefer any presentation to sound natural and unscripted but on target. That takes practice.
