Not a bad idea for a new agent to put something out there to try to attract buyers. Most likely a win/win for both parties.

No and I don't think it is good practice to advertise your own listings on Craigslist.

I would not say ''common'', but some agents do in hope to double end or get buyer leads? If you use REalBird, it is easy to share your listing on CL.

Craigslist, no. Most of the brokers in GEBOR use IDX agreements and include other brokers' listings on their website. L

I do not want my listings advertised by anybody on Craiglist. We have a high rate of scamming going on with Craiglist and real estate so don't want any part.

My only goal is to sell my listings at top dollar, in the shortest time with the least hassle. I love everyone to promote my listings. Get them sold. Double ending is not a consideration so Craigslist or any other means is great!

John DL Arendsen I personally have not heard of this. However, it is okay to advertise other agent's listings with permission.

No. I never had any broker ask to advertise my listings on craigslist. I have given new agents in our office permission to advertise some of my listings to help them generate some calls.

Yes they can do that if they want & I don't care. As long as someone calls & they work the business.
HUD & FNMA REO's also state that anyone can put one of their properties for sale on any site.

I'm not even a fan of IDX and have had many Sellers complain when they find their property on another agent's website. I work hard to earn my listings and I don't appreciate those who don't, availing themselves of mine. So, I'd say no thank you.

I would be leery. Not of Craigslist, but of how those Brokers are going to present that listing on CL.

OMIGOSH -- you have got to be kidding me. You're letting a competing broker advertise your client's property on CL . . . and use it for buyer bait?!? How unethical.
The bottom line is NOT selling the property. It's REPRESENTING YOUR CLIENT! It's not letting a buyers agent take it and plug themselves and YOUR client's property, in order to pick up buyers . . . for other properties! Geez . . .

As long as he represents your listing in a good light, and obeys all the state and board rules on advertising, then go for it. CL also shows up high in many of the SERPS, so your listing is getting more exposure. And that is a win /win. The agent may just bring you the buyer!

I habe used craigslist when looking for renters. Watch out for spam. There is a Realtor / broker in our area that constantly places listings from anyone & without asking. Some agents get upset. As long as they properly advertise whom the listing belongs to I'm ok with the idea.

I'm not sure how that would help the other agent on craigslist, I have shared on Facebook and other social media, but have only ever posted my own listings on CL. If you have a link to their post of your listing I'd like to see how it was written up...

I used to advertise my listings on CL. Nothing good came of it (and some bad). I don't let anyone advertise my listings other than me. Why let someone else find my buyer if I can do it myself?

John DL Arendsen - not in our office. I personally stopped advertising on CL - after few scams on my listings.

John, I stopped using Craigslist when the scammers took over. But anything another agent wants to do to sell my listing is fine with me, within reason.
519,824
John DL Arendsen I get these requests with every new listing I get. I choose to decline. On one hand, more exposure could help my seller, on the other I have no control of how they present it and I'm helping a competitor build their business. I do my own Craigslist postings for my listings as well as every other possible site. 95% of the business comes through our MLS and it's IDX feeds rather than secondary exposure.

No. Advertisement by other registrants in my jurisdiction is only permitted when done in accordance with the law.
2,234,859
I haven't heard of this. I would let another agent advertise my listing. I would be concerned about how it was handled. I don't want to have to police what the other agent is doing with my listing.

Never does my listings go on Craigs list. Never will I allow an agent from a different company use my listings
