Not hardly, Paul. Those who ultimately work with me buying or selling a home usually say at the end that they could never do what I do for a living.

    They used to.  Now they watch HGTV, and they think that I show three houses and then walk away with a big fat paycheck.

So many Rain friends said exactly what I would have said.

They know I am in real estate ... do they understand ... likey not. 

They do know I work my ass off to protect them and serve their highest and best.  

They understand  in very general terms, but haven't a clue of all the work adn details that are behind any transaction, or all the issues that can come up, other than those they've heard about, or perhaps experienced.

My close ones do.

They understand I am in real estate, but many think that because I make it look easy, that it is an easy job.

Not really.

The know what I do, but I'm sure they don't  know what I REALLY do!

Nobody outside the industry understands what we do.  It's sort of like some of the government workers I know.

They understand the concept not the reality!

They know it is hard but can be lucrative.

I'd say my close friends know and understand.

They understand what I need for them to understand . . .  that I'll make each transaction for them, their friends and family, stress-free and enjoyable.  They need know nothing further

no, and i cant say i really understand theirs. except one friend , a ballet dancer , since i spent so many years doing the free spin building homes... i qualify :)

They know I'm a REALTOR but do not understand all the details involved in getting a house from contract to closing.

No and some get in to arguments with us because they think the know as much about the market as we do because they watch HGTV and visit Zillow.

Yes and I keep reminding them all the time.

Paul - I don't really think they do. If they did, they probably wouldn't think I had such a great job.

Paul, My husband does not really understand what I do so I'm sure friends and others outside the industry don't either.

oh, they certainly do....they now understand what my daughter, Tammy, does for a living, too....

Yes, some better than others.  Depends on if/how many transactions they've had.

I doubt that they really understand the job.

Sometimes I wonder if they do. 

They understand they sell real estate but not the details unless we have had a transaction together.   

I don't have friends.

Absolutely not! It's unbelievable what comes out of their mouths regarding their knowledge of real estate.

Best one was how 'Realtors' crashed the market a few years ago because we were greedy & drove up prices. Needless to say, I nipped that nonsense right away & did a stand up at the dog park about who really wrecked the economy.

They do, but somehow it skips their mind to mention me to all their friends and strangers they meet.

We don't talk about it much...we are in the mood to enjoy and have a good time.  A

I have some really good friends that get it and know why I always answer my phone, and I'm always late for gatherings. 

Some do and some don't. I am glad to tell them some of the activities in a day of real estate.

To be honest, I don't believe so.  The thing they know is that I work hard and all the time, but that my hard work has paid off in success and the ability to do things many of my friends can't.

Yes, they all marvel at how busy we are.  But then, we work when they are off work and are mostly in the office when they are working.

Yes and they always say, "how is the market".
