I have had buyers not want to buy a house because someone died there, but often it's not an issue. No issues with haunted or allegedly haunted houses, but there are reportedly some here in Carlsbad. I did have a buyer back in Boston who told me she would never live in a house on a "dead end street." And some buyers are not inclined to want to live by a cemetery

I have never been involved with a home that was possessed.  Though, not so sure about a few of my customers.

I'm a sensitive person. I can sense things about a house. In CO as a seller's agent we don't have to disclose a death in the house, but as a buyer's agent...if we know we must disclose.

I sold a house to friends after the seller disclosed that the previous owners had died in the house in a murder suicide.  My friends bought the house anyway and have been very happy there.

I was watching the OJ #5 show this week and saw his house was demolished. I wonder who purchased the land and am curious if a new home was build and sold and who bought it?

In CA disclosures are required if there is a death in the home unless HIV/AIDS was related to the death.

Great question, but I don't think in KY we have to disclose, but I probably would either way if I knew.

I haven't, although I've been asked on the rare occasion if someone died in the home. In NC we have no obligation to disclose; we just can't lie if asked if we know the information.

I have had clients that felt vibes good and bad. That is as close as it has come. I did showed a house where a mass murder had occured in the bedroom. The whole time I thought about it but never mentioned it to the buyer because she didn't like the floor plan.

In California we used to have to disclose if someone died w/in 7 years, now it's 3 and the exception list has grown.  I've heard back east some places it's against the law to even ask!

Some agents disclose it in the agent remarks, others wait until escrow.  My broker almost listed one of Charlie Manson's hideouts... that's the closest we've gotten to a famous, or infamous, house.  He turned down the listing!
