There will be those who say no day is a good day for an open house and others who say the opposite.  It depends on you and your market.

We're fortunate this is not a one-size-fits-all business.

For me, no day is a good day for open houses. Just don't hold them myself. But I don't think family-related holidays are great for open houses in general.

Here's hoping...my buyer's specialist is doing one today for me lol!  I think any time is good for an open house.  Even if no one shows up, you can write up a quick blog post or something.

Well - I did one today and zero people.  There were probably other factors such as great weather and a local outdoor fair that drew people away.  But I expected it be slow - just not that slow.

We are doing one this afternoon, and have done other Open Houses on other Holidays (not Christmas or Thanksgiving).  I think today the deterrent will be our temperatures, and I totally understand that, and want people to be safe.  We did advertise this house, so we are going to show up Dana Hollish Hill - did not know that today would be 117 (thought it would be 'only' 111)!

We make sure all our sellers that agree to allow showings on Fathers Day have access via a key box however no one on our team is sitting open houses this weekend.  We do have a few showings scheduled. Hoping all Dads are enjoying their day as well.

I don't think so. People are focused on family stuff. On the other hand, if anyone does come out, they might be very serious.

It will be whatever the open house host makes of it. There are many open houses in my area today.  If I were inclined to hold an open house the fact that it is Father's Day would not prevent me from doing so.

It depends on your market.  I had decent results on Easter for example.  But that house was one block from new construction and they were doing beaucoup advertising to get people in.

Personally, I wouldn't want to do one today unless my father gave me permission!  And since he's my broker/business partner and usually would be there with me, I doubt he'd want to do one today.  We're actually scheduling and doing pre marketing for an open house next weekend.

Hi Dana - As a sheer guess, no, because dads usually aren't the motivating source of open house viewing and today, they get to do what they want. I'll bet it's not open houses.

It really does depend on your market place. Real Estate practice is local..here many are honoring their dads today with family gatherings..very few if any open houses scheduled for today.
