If I am showing and we need to stop for lunch it will be a modest sit-down restaurant where we can discuss the houses and be waited on without having to hop up and down to pick up a meal, refill a beverage, get more napkins or a fork, etc.

My last client meal was at an awesome new French Restaurant: Le Petite Bistrot in La Jolla (with ocean views) last Friday night, A+ clients celebrating their 1 year anniversary in La Jolla thanks to moi!

Depends on the client and the situation: during tour, after tour, celebration, meeting or thank you.

None of those listed above,I have not done fast food in 16 years. Ruth's Chris is nice, once, but overrated for the prices. I'm not big on steaks though, nor the locations of our 2 RC's.

It's local healthy favorites & family owned or small 1-5 store types like Surf Brothers or Rubios for fresh fish tacos, seldom low end chains or franchises. Although I do use Roy's & Duke's in La Jolla frequently and they are chains, but upscale.

It depends on the day. Sometimes if we are still on the road and have appt. then fast food and eat in the car. If the showings are over then typically something more quiet so we can discuss the homes.

generally a local place... Jackson's (on the lake and has great fish), Aubri Lane's (gives Ruth Chris a run for their money), Stacks (fabulous sandwich shop), The Brick (devine pizza) or Biba's (does have multiple locations, but not a chain yet all owned by same family with good Italian dishes)

We would go to locally owned restaurants.  Price is not what matters, it is the local feel.  We would take someone to Superica, a local taqueria, that has made the Robb Report top 100 restaurants.  It was one of Julia Child's favorites, and it is one of ours.  We spend $20. including tip for the two of us, for instance, and it can be something like Downey's whose prices are on par with Ruth's Chris.  A

There are a couple of locally-owned eateries in town that are hangouts for agents and host mixers etc. A coffee roastery and a bistro. They are cozy and inexpensive but hip. That's where I meet clients when I need to.

It depends on why we are eating together. If we're grabbing something while showing or semi fast. If we are celebrating a closing, something local or a franchise, rarely anything upscale.

If we're on the go, we stop for sandwiches to take out. If I were to select a restaurant, it would depend on the occasion e.g. quick lunch between showings or celebrating a closing? Either way, prefer to stick to something local and authentic, not chains.

Clients we don't know well who are buying/selling a $300k house - no where. Clients we know well or those who are buying/selling $1M houses - we tend toward a few locally owned restaurants we like that are probably comparable to a Ruth's Chris.

Depends on the client and the way things are going. I don't generally do fast food, but if it's a local treasure I have.  I reserve the high end places to my favorite clients. I've done Pizza, mediteranian, seafood-both fast and fine dining.  Starbucks is the most common.
