The one most recognized by the public as having ANY value is that of BROKER.

The one most easily exploited by an agent to generate new business is those designations related to Senior/retirement/universal design lifestyles.

Ask the next 100 people you meet what the following mean and you will have your answer.

While I don't think that clients know one designation from another, I do think some have value from what you learn and what network of referrals you can build.  To me, CRS is the best for residential and CCIM for commercial.

Good question.  I don't even know what all the acronyms are.  The general public don't seem to notice.  I'm sure the training is great.  I'm planning to follow thru just not sure which one.

The point is not if consumers know what the designation mean.

Most consumers do not even know what "Realtor" means.  They also don't understand the difference between a broker, agent. a transaction broker, a dual agent, a non agent, single agent, or double agent.

The point is that advanced education makes you a smarter realtor, who is more knowledgable on how to solve problems.

The most important designation for me is the CEBA (Certified Exclusive Buyers Agent) which no one reading this has, or even qualifies to get.

Not sure designations mean that much in the overall scheme of things. Even as a Realtor I don't get any "WADAGUYS" from anyone. Not even from any other RE agents.  In fact it really doesn't raise any eyebrows for the average lay person. Folks called me a Realtor long before I ever was one.

As they say BS, MS, PHD, DDS or LLB. Who really cares as long as you make my tooth ache go away or get me off my DWI?
