I think it depends on the individual.  

Sam Shueh I don't think there is a real estate agent out there who works 24/7. Availability doesn't equate to hours worked. 

Work is good for us.

I think we all work excessive hours in this country. Well, maybe not all, but many.

I'm not sure how they get anything done in 6 hours!  I'm on hour 9 and still have two offer to write up!

Thanks to the current prez, 32 hours is full time for most. Most companies are shfting below this thanks to the not so affordable health care law.  Workers are losing hours and getting charged more. We dont need less time but better politicians

What 24/7?  7am-3pm Monday-Friday and by appointment.  No weekends or holidays.

Real estate is not the best career for those who wish for short work days.

I don't mind working, but I also don't believe there is anf 8 hour work day in the US - they may say there is, but I don't know many people who only work 8 hours a day

I have never done 24/7 as a Realtor and tell my clients right up front not to expect it. Spent 18 years in the corporate world as a senior executive and never worked an 8 hour day-- more like 12.

We do not work 24 hours. 

We don't really work 24/7 but I do think most full time agents work too many hours, at least when things are busy.

It isn't how many hours one works that really matter. The # of effective work hours varies from a person to person, from a tired self to a well rested self... Sometimes, I work obsessively much and, as years go by, I am trying to be better at adjusting my schedule to include rest, excersize, family, food, sleep, fun... I do love that as realtor I can work as many hours as I can be effective, no more :-)

I work 10 and 12 hour days and then an occasional 4-6 hour day. On any given week I put in 50-60 hours. It is the nature of the business.

I try to keep my days to 8 hours if I can.  I am never going to be caught working 24/7.

If was to pay an exorbitant fee for a result, I don't want to hear too much about when they are NOT available. When I have product...24/7 until sold

Personally, I think 24/7 is ridiculous.  How do you expect people to respect you if you don't respect yourself or your family?

Many people work less than 8 hours/day, some less than 6.  As long as we live in what's considered a capitalist system, people are going to work far more than the "standard" work day if it means advancing and improving their quality of life.

Sounds OK to me, should get a job there. They eat fish for breakfast though ...

It is two totally different life styles and I am doing that right now!

Unfortunately, RE agents who really think limiting their work hours will lead to success are in need of immediate rehab

With the reduction of hours worked, did they get a pay reduction too?
