I have had difficult customers that make want to buy a shovel and Lyme!  

But the most challenging transactions are the ones that make you an all star and these tough situations serve as your trophy's!

no kidding. If RE is easy why there are 90% drops outs.  We are surviors and we have a can do it attitude.

Definitely.  Been Discouraged to that point. but then there are the good ones you love working with and they outweigh the bad.

Not at all.  Before I got into real estate, I worked for a health care company that got me to change careers.  

Oh yes, but I trudged through it and I'm still going - my husband - not so much. 

He had a transaction in the beginning of his career that sent him running and never looked back.  He still maintains his license and works with me but doesn't actually sell anything.

No, difficult challenges I enjoy solving.

I have thought about leaving the business when I have been disappointed by friends & even family who have used my expertise, time and experience and then purchased homes with others with a rationale like "the open house agent said we could get a better deal if we used him".  Thankfully in 30 years, there have only been a few, but unfortunate instances like these.

Not quite...wishing the people involved woud not be in the profession...not that we were not...

Yup!  And then a past client rolls up next to me at a red light and enthusiastically waves and then I remember I'm right where I should be.

Only one.  It was a listing that didn't sell.  Went into a funk!

Oh yes.  I had a 6 month stretch a few years back that was all the worst clients in my life.

The worst transaction I ever had was a broker from hell....a blond bimbo with fake boobs that married into tons of money.

She was so outrageous that not only will I never show her listings, I even avoid all her company listings because I fear the agents may be a chip off the ol block. 

I did not think about getting out of the business, but when I do, I will let her know how unprofessional, dumb, and plain evil  she was...

I've never had a specific transaction, Debbie, that made me think about leaving the business. But there's hardly a day that goes by when I'm not thinking to myself that I must be nuts to stay in it! 

not seriously but yes - this week has been worse than horrible - three transactions or four that were/are nightmares!

Yes definitely, but then someone comes along and reminds me why I enjoy this business so much.  I have had at least 2-3 but have continued to bounce back and just keep moving forward!

I guess I'm too stubborn and persistent to let a tough transaction or two knock me down. At least it hasn't happened yet.

I've had a transaction that caused me such stress I developed a digestive disorder.  Thank God it was temporary.  The day the deal closed, my gut unclenched and I was normal again.  Had another that ended up in an ugly EMD dispute that kept trying to go to court, but never did.  And yet another that yielded a Federal indictment.  Not one of them made me want to leave this industry.

Probably in every single transaction I have a moment of, "uh-oh". But for me, Real Estate is like life, one day you are on top of the world and the next, challenges arise. I chose to look at it something I need to learn from and move on. 

We have transactions that test our patience and wonder why we stay in this crazy business!

Good morning Debbie. We are human, which means that it can often be pretty emotional, but I don't hold onto this thought process very long.

I am sad to say...but YES. I usually take a prolonged vacation to decompress and come back refreshed to pay for the trip.

No one transaction. The cumulative grind of having people need, need, need, help all the time tempts me to look over the fence at other options.

We've had some very challenging deals Debbie, but we are too passionate about Real Estate to have ever thought about getting out of the biz...

I just ride the roller coaster through the good the bad & the ugly and yes the sun will come back out soon ....

NEVER.... and no matter how difficult the transaction might have been, it would not drive me out of the business....

Ha! A few transactions, some people are lucky they're still breathing. But enough to throw up my hands for real? Nah.

No. However, years of those transactions lead to my retirement.

Almost but it made me stronger. A divorce sale where the wife went to war. A sale where the seller passed away and condo sale where the buyer agent used anything and everything to get the price reduced or a credit, so much that the buyer exploded at closing to get one more discount, it didnt close
