There is no magic formula.  There seems to be no rhyme or reason for some featured posts. I write sometimes and thing "this is really good" ... "it should be featured" and it gets a lot of comments but no feature. Other times, I wonder "why did this post get featured?"  

I just focus on having fun and enjoying the interaction with the members.

That is the million dollar question that everyone has been asking for many years.

It needs to be interesting to many, intriguing or inspiring, revolutionary or reactionary, written with an odd amount of change in your left pocket on a day you didn't wash your hair and that your dog enjoyed playing Frisbee instead of ball, in the rain not sunshine . . .

Sometimes you have to sleep with the Gold Star Fairy.

Just keep writing blogs that are informative.  Eventually, you will get featured.

its kind of like the lottery.  Cross your fingers and say a little prayer. I don't think there is a real answer

Just write the best you can and if the stars align it may get featured. There is no magic formula. Some of the best posts I have read in the Rain were not featured.

      I have seen Blogs that were educational and informative.  They were written in style comparable to Shakespeare or Hemingway, yet were not featured.

     Then someone writes a Blog post titled, "Look at the Silly Kitty" and it gets featured.

    Go figure.

That is the secret everyone wants to know. Outside of being on the short list with a couple of features a week, you have to write a blog that has people talking, gets them interested, attracts comments. SOme of th egreatest blogs i have written get missed while ones i throw together on emotion make it. I write to attract new clients, to teach, to entertain or share a story. I will take 1 new client over a feature any day.

I have had only a few featured and some were totally stream of consciousness which surprised me to have then featured. I think the suggestion of writing material that is universally useful is a good one

By writing a well throughout blog that helps educate the readers or it helps to peak readers interest. Who knows...

It is one of those questions that has no scientific answer. 

Write something good usually works.  It's a mysterious thing.

Think out of the box, come up with current solutions to problems plaguing all of us. Original content. Then roll the dice!

There is no formula for getting featured, although the interesting and useful content that will appeal to a broad range of readers is probably more likely to get featured. Just keep writing

I don't worry about being featured - I focus on content and let the chips fall where they will

Often there are lots of responses and the post is not featured and other times no responses and it is featured. I would like to see more of a variety of members featured instead of the usual ones. It is odd that there are members with 100s of features and others with 1 or 2 featured posts but who have a lot of points.

No clue. Who decides these days? Is there a way to suggest? Used to be.

The posts that seem to get featured are agent/industry centric, not consumer centric.  As far as I can tell, writing about something that will help agents be more efficient and make more money has the best chance of getting featured. I think wanting to get featured is great but writing consumer centered content is, ultimately, going to benefit you more.    

Wait patiently for a person who has that authority to feature your post.

I do not know,  only 25 features in 5 years.

Write what you know, good content, and hope for the best.   No one can write a post to get Featured.  

It has to be deemed feature worthy by an ambassador.  Usually content of interest to the general masses, if memory serves.

I used to wonder about the people who select the programming for cable. They keep showing the same thing over & over while the good stuff is no where to be found...Maybe its an app doing it?

Review those blogs that have been featured. They share a broad appeal aspect and have been commented on by an identifiable group of members. It must be understood to be a very fluid process where the rules are vague and predictability low. 

How to and lists are highly favored.

i believe there is a small group of ambassadors who pick the featured ones.
