I feel the love, joy and excitement reading your commentary to your question. Very exciting stuff. Having a son join the Navy would be a proud moment. Yet, one that would l;eave a mother always in prayer mode. Thank your son for me for his dedication to serving.

Yes, I have had some major person milestones.

Sounds like you're enjoying time with your daughter.  Thank your son for his willingness to serve.  I always pray for our service men and women.

Brenda,

How wonderful for your daughter and her first prom, and your son going to the Navy is definitely a moment of wanting to be selfish.    A

No milestones lately here, nice and quiet. :0)

No major happy milestones. My 91 year-old sister who lived through the seige of Leningrad in WWII and communist rule, died last week. I suppose I can consider this a life milestone... that generation is quickly disappearing.

My 18 year old black cat Henry passed away the other night.  That may sound depressing, but it's not. He lived a long, full life that other cats can only dream of.

Henry was the greatest cat ever.  He was the King; he lived a cat's life.  He climbed trees, he drank from a mountain stream, he ruled over the other cats in our pride.

Henry never showed any signs of pain or suffering.  He started looking weak a few days ago, and the other night, he just... passed away.  Very peaceful.

We buried Mr. Henry Pearson (full name) in the woods in a county park near our house.  It is "protected green space" so nobody will develop it.  I dug a grave about 3 feet deep, we placed jasmine flower blossoms on Henry and then covered him over.  Later this week I will plant wild roses and pink azaleas around his final resting place.

     Long live the King!
