I got that number right and like Bob Crane said many own more than one. I work with a fellow that had about 20 at one time. He lives on a farm and had exotic ones like an ostrich, pet pig and camel plus the usual ones.

And some of us Americans are owned by more than one pet.

Doesn't surprise me. In Naples one of the major advertising comments for listings is if the building or complex is allows pets. There are "poop" stations everywhere for people walking their dogs and forget to bring a baggy. Naples is definitely pet friendly!

Wow!  But I'm not really surprised.  Pets are great buddies.

I said 60% I was close 

70% in Carmel, California....we are the pet friendliest city!  Dogs are allowed to run leash free on our beautiful Carmel Beach, you can bring your pet shopping in the stores and to outside dining areas, you can even get a beautiful room at the Cypress Inn (owned by Doris Day) that has a cushy bed for your dog, treats and a water bowl! 

Very cool!

A lot, especially in Los Angeles where a lot of single people or couples without kids. 

I actually knew that as I included it in a blog post I wrote last week. I still need to publish on here.

That is higher than i thought as many homes have mor e than 1 pet, yet there are much more homes i know that have no pets over those that do.

We are in the 65%, with 3 cats.

The percentage may be higher in our neighborhood.
