I think this has been going on since the beginning of time. It's kinda like what Kenneth J. Jones was talking about with 'too much info in marketing' - if a post is too long or too comprehensive, people will read it (if it's not TOO long), nod their head, hit the 'like' button or not, and all good. They got the info, that's what's important. Also, our little brains have been haywired by too much texting and Twitter and our attention spans are gnat-like. There's that too! 3:)

Many won't read long blogs, so they can't comment on what they don't read (although it still seems many do as comments don't line up with the blog content).

People are all in a rush and often, perhaps you are getting views from mobile devices which are not always the best vehicle for commenting

Most publicly driven posts will have more hits and less comments.
Short posts directed toward AR members will get more comments.

Too many takers, not enough givers. Some only come to get what you offer in training or information. It should be taken as a compliment that they visited your site even if they don't acknowledge you with a comment !

I tend to agree with Candice A. Donofrio that people are migrating to the shorter posts so they can scan and run. That way they can leave a quick comment if they feel inclined.

My most viewed post only got a few comments. I think some posts that attract outside viewers might not attract comments - they're too shy or something!

People seem to comment when it's fresh so to speak.
Some people just read & don't want to comment. Sometimes I can't, won't, don't have anything to say.

Decades ago, when if you liked someone in the movies, you wrote a letter to the studio saying so. The more mail an actor got, the chances for stardom increased. Today, you life is just a "click" as in like, post, delete or share.

I spent nearly 2 years not blogging or commenting - I would read posts every day though. I think there are a lot of people who read and don't comment and if you notice, you don't see a lot of consumers commenting - but, they DO read our posts!

I get the most views from the neighborhood or City posts, and the Public doesn't usually comment, so few comments.

I can open up a blog, get a 1/4 through it and not leave a comment. I've read blogs fully and not had anything to say that would be of value, so I don't comment.

Maybe they comment on a post when they have something to say and/or the time to say it.

I have posts which have tons of views and not a ton of comments and I suspect they are public views, who don't tend to comment.

Let me take a look at your blogs first.
----
Appears you average 15-20 comments per blog AND you respond to those who leave a comment.
I think the results you are receiving is good.
What is your expectation regarding the number of comments?
Trying to associate views to comments, when we do not have all the info is an exercise of futility.

Some dont take the time to leave comments, i feel if you take the time to read a blog, let them know you were there, even to just say hello.

Good morning Hella. I should pay more attention to stuff like that, but I don't really pay much attention to the views.

I'm not sure how it works in here. I did not know there is any relationship between number of comments and views.

Hella M. Rothwell, Broker/Realtor® my market reports are for consumers. Some of my market report posts have more than 1000 views and no comments.

Well the ideal is that you are getting lots of organic traffic from searches (and a bit from social media) and very few of them will leave comments. So for strong articles that the public sees, there is often little correlation.
