Canva is a great place to start. There are lots of sites that offer free photos. I have a list, let me see if I can find it. (I recently got a new computer, so everything's not at my fingertips like it used to be.)

*** I just looked thru the first page of my blogging page. If I didn't take the photo, they are all from Canva. Canva is $1 per photo - you make them any size or shape - I buy in bulk - cheap insurance that you're not stepping on anyone's toes.

I have a big box full of CD's that I purchased, along with a license to use everything in the collection.  I don't entirely trust a lot of the "public domain" image collections you find online.

stay away from anything owned by getty images - even if you pay their nominal fee, they will attempt to scam you out of hundreds or thousands of dollars for so called copy\right infringement!

To asnwer your question though - take your own when ever possible

I use mostly mine, and never was buying any images. http://unsplash.com is a great one. Always give credit though!

Damon Botticelli I don't have a recommendation, but be careful of using the free photos. They may be free, but not for commercial use. Blogging for real estate is a commercial use.

This is a good question. I'm going to return because I'm interested in the variety of answers. 

I subscribe to Clipart.com for a small fee per year. I have 10,000 photos at my fingertips. I also use freedigitalphotos.net.

My top two are Morguefiles.com and bobs camera

The unique ones are the ones you take yourself.
