I see this and cringe.  That means 3.5 billion people (assuming a good percentage are too young to use a computer) that have yet to hear about a 419 scam, have yet to be infected by viruses.  3.5 billion more trolls to post online.  LORD HELP US!!!

As to the business side of things, I don't really care how many are online worldwide.  I only care about how many are online within driving distance to my listings, or are relocating to my area.  I really don't give a darn about some 13 year old in Antigua.  I'm not marketing my homes to him.

Yes, everyone seems to be online these day. I've just finished reading The Third Wave, by AOL Founder Steve Case, that mentions that in 1985 just 3% of Americans were online for an average of one hour per week! The popularity of Internet almost didn't happen.
