Online communities can be light or dark, as the dominant thoughtforms. This one's gentle and quirky and wise and colorful.

I don't know that Active Rain, in and of itself, has any "magic", but the community certainly does.

It's a magical panoply of real estate professionals including stagers, loan officers, realtors, and more... offering their advice and perspectives for free.  Where else can you find that?

Even the gadflies have their own cachet, advocates and following.

Sometimes it's Glinda, and sometimes it's Elphaba... only you can decide which you'll be.

Oh yes especially when my phone rings and someone on the other end wants to buy or sell a house because they read my blog on AR

oh yes when I get a call from a member who says I am coming to your area and would love to have dinner with you and we meet and it is like meeting an old friend you knew for years

Hi Annette- does ActiveRain have the magic?  I'd say it certainly does for me.  But the magic comes from the vast number of contributing members here who offer their views of real estate in their areas, who support us, cheer us on, and help all of us to be just a bit better.

I have learned so much here in the past couple of years and I love blogging. I didn't know how much I adored photography until I started taking pictures of landscapes and nature. I have many good friends and love to read their comments. Yes, ActiveRain does have the magic for us. I look forward to reading and writing every morning! I like Larry's comment of 'Magic Rain'.

I do think there is a bit of magic here. I've gotten lots of ideas, made friends, found lenders and clients....so much more. That's unique in the Internet world. 

It does for me! I either learn something or "meet" someone new here almost daily.

YES!!!! A resounding YES from me - for me ActiveRain definitely makes the world a better place. Via AR, I have the opportunity to learn from people from diverse backgrounds and from different parts of the US and Canada. My professional life is stronger and - happily - so is my personal life. I have made friends inside AR who are very important to me!

I definitely agree that Active Rain is magic... my business has improved immensely since I started blogging.

I've been a member of Active Rain for about 10 years now. There is no other place like it online. I try to encourage other agents to join, they make a profile but they don't participate.

It's not for every agent, but it could be. Believe it or not, there are agents who a) think they have nothing to say when they do and b) are afraid others will judge their writing / appearance / opinions, whatever . . .

AR has been my early morning "prospecting" for years.   My posts are viewed by the public, and makes my phone ring!
