One word that immediately came to mind was COMMUNICATION !
Many of my best brokers and agents have mastered this ability. One of the biggest delays in completing a mortgage package can be chasing an agent by phone, email or personal pursuit trying to get contracts or documents.
Another thought is: COMPASSION !
By exercising compassion for their agents, their contacts and especially their clients; they make people WANT to do business with them. This leads to a steady stream of business which rolls over into a never ending referral flow.

There are so many things that makes a GREAT agent. Communication, listening to your customer's wants and needs, honesty, looking at your lender as a member of the team as opposed to just anyone, knowing that you don't know everything, being one time, and knowing finance, not just knowing programs, and not having an attitude. It takes work to be GREAT agent, you just need to work at it.

I belive that it takes prompt, courteous and honest answers, coupled with complete follow-through to make a GREAT Real Estate Agent and Broker. A GREAT Agent/Broker should make every single client feel like that they are the ONLY client because they are that attentive to the clients' needs.

I recently got my license and therefore am on a journey to become great agent, and then someday a great broker. Being very new to this business, I am definitely learning alot as I progress, and my definitions of great agents and brokers will also progress. As I see it now, I believe a great agent is one that can establish an honest, proffessional, relationship with a client, that discernly communicates the necessary expertise of the industry.
