I am with Berkshire Hathatway and was formally with Prudential. It was a well respected brand in the community.

Better homes and gardens is my home, I tried Keller Williams but felt the office was more about recruitment than business.  They have more agents than any other office in this area.  It is definitely a personality fit for me.

If somebody really wants to become a market leader, the franchise can help as a brand endorser.  We have written a white paper on all these franchises when it comes to luxury.  However, it won't stop you as an independent.  Your fate is in your hands  A

Worked under Re/Max before.  Could never remember how to capitalize their darn name.  Left that insanity and went independent.  Best move ever!

There was only one brand synonymous with real estate.

Ask any stranger, "What's the first company you think of when you hear real estate."  And this was confirmed by their Internet search patterns and who they call if the must pick from a list.

It all sums up in significant lead numbers from the brand website. However, this company IS part of the status quo and I look forward to meeting a courageous and visionary broker.

Sothebys.  Here in San Diego for the luxury market domination is with Berkshire, Coldwell Banker, and Sothebys.  Personally I would rather not swim against the current and focus on selling.  

I worked for a franchise and I like the marketing benefits this offers, but for the last six years, I've been with a small, locally owned and operated firm. It's been around for 40 years with the original owner. 

Although even after 40 years this guy knows how to adapt to the times and market conditions. 

I'm with a small independent now but started at Coldwell Banker and spent several years there. I choose it because their business model was most compatible with my style.

I'm with RE/MAX and have been for 21 years.... I asked my last broker/owner for a better split and he assumed he had me forever.... hmmmm .... he was very, very upset when he found out he was wrong... that office went from #1 in the entire database to the bottom.... I hate the answer "no"....

I started with Prudential (now Berkshire Hathaway) because it offered training and I felt more comfortable in a corporate structure at the time; liked the location as well. After a while, it was disappointing.

KW.  Because of the people there, not because of the brand...

Chose to go with RM because there were virtually no newbies in the office. I didn't want to be surrounded by agents that were constantly in the state of training. 

Also, sales & listing stats were important.

Most big franchise have their favorite golden boys or sons getting the leads. So the heck with them.

I started with one of the so called great franchises.  I improved to a small independent where I could learn something other than how to throw my money away and not be trained.
