I am not the biggest fan of having them at open houses. I've seen where they become too attached with some visitors and the visitors do not get a chance to view the home completely. Maybe I just need to "screen" the lenders a bit better.

However you make no effort to define the function of the loan officer but leave the reader to assume.

A loan officer at a purposed open house can serve many beneficial roles one being SECURITY and apparently another role could be chef.

I you want them, yes. They can be great as a co-host and valuable for drop in buyers.

It always helps to have a lender at the open house - who knows someone may want to write the offer NOW!

Make sure you and the lender comply with RESPA.

I should why not? I think its a great idea to have loan officer at a OH. I would have you Deanna Early  at one of my OH , but we are so far away, haha

It is a good idea a loan officer in open house.

Many of my Realtors actually like having me at their open house.  No, it's NOT because I'm a fabulous lender, though I am.   It's because I am a fabulous cook.  I have catered so many open houses over the years and most Realtors come out just to eat my food.   I'm not gloating here, they've actually told me this over the years.

Now then, if an agent asks, I will gladly be on site to answer mortgage issue questions from a generic standpoint to be supportive without pushing my bank specifically.  Remember, Lenders don't have agency so buyers don't HAVE to do business with me just because we talked at an open house.

If it is worth their time.

I have them accompany me, and was helpful when buyers had questions about the loan.

If you are lonely and need the company, yes.  If you're too frightened to do an open house by yourself, yes.  If you think someone is going to walk in, want to buy the house on the spot and need to get a loan... please come back to reality.

The more information you provide your clients, the more your clients will turn to you first. If you trust the advisw of your loan officer and they have the people skills of human, by all means have them there.

Yes.  I can see  that having a lender present as a great assest to the open house.  Many potential buyers who attend open houses often times ask questions in regards to financing.  Having a lender to field those questions and being able to respond on the spot  would be beneficial.

yes, like having them there. If a buyer comes through who isn't quite qualified you have twice the chance of incubation until they are ready.

A loan agent on site is great to get the home buying procedure started.

Why not? Especially if the Open House is going to be busy. I think it is of value to the prospects.

You should not ask questions anonymous but let everyone know who you are for better answers. And yes, i like to have one present
