Desmond Neoh I haven't had any stolen, but I have had my commercial signs kicked in, shot up, turned over and dragged into the trees. I guess they are too big to carry away.

Yard signs seem to dissappear, most likely metal collectors which is why i have switched to hard plastic signs.

I've lost directional signs before. I think the landscaping company took them down.

No! My are personalized and and never had them taken. I follow the rules up only the day of the open house!

Early years yes, now I have my company name and my name on them and not lost one in years.

We had a meeting with the city sign ordinance team and found out that they are responsible for removing real estate signs and directionals in violation.

What is bizarre is they are returned to their original location when I'm setting up for the next open house.

My "home for sale" have, but I think that happens because of bad placement on my part, and that relationship to landscape crews.

In out area, the City employees will pick up the signs if they are in public areas in violation of the local regulations.

Yes, even though the were legal. Many illegal signs aren't really stolen, they are removed by people authorized to remove them.

The only signs that we have lost were taken by government workers who objected to having any signs on state highways.

I have had personalized open house directional signs disappear but it's a rarity and hasn't happened for many years.  

No, mine have not! But I know people who has had this happen or had the stands stolen and the signs throw in the grass (I assume for yard sale signs or for their own use) it's really a shame people have no respect!

Desmond Neoh - not yet - except once when I forgot to pick up after the open house. Of course, the sign was missing the next day.

No, I have not had that happen Desmond Neoh, neither to Open House nor to For Sale signage. 

I was hosting open house, standing on the front porch.  I saw a champagne colored Chevy Malibu stop in front of my open house sign.  The sign wasn't in front of the house, but it was in the line of sight. 

I saw a lady get out of the car and look at my sign.  I thought that was so weird.  It was weirder that she plucked the sign out of the ground, popped the trunk and threw it in.

When I realized what was happening, I yelled and ran after the car but that Chevy Malibu was faster than me. 

I've had a few stolen, or thrown in the bushes but it's been quite some time. The bigger issue is wrong placement and having the city come by and take them

No my OH signs, but my for sale signs on vacant lots yes!

I've had them used for target practive and knocked down, but I've never had them stolen. 

Yes, I tape a business card on them, to try and keep that from happening.

Yes!  More than once.  They've even been bb-shot, and totaly vandalized.  It's part of the "Cost of doing business" right?

Stolen, Vandalized, thrown in the trash by an HOA...yep, so I took the hint, I stopped doing open houses 10 years ago.  Luckily the Internet made them obsolete for selling a home.

You can't be in this business for any while without losing a sign or two.

Let's just say they disappeared.

Sure, the more you use and the further from the subject property you put them - the higher the odds of loosing one or more. Diretionals typically get picked up by the city/hwy dept if they are in the right of way (which can be much much wider than the road & sidewalk).

And run over by the Snow Plow !

Of course, don't know why people think this is fun but they do. I often find it's neighbors on the corners that don't like signs constantly in their face on the weekends.

Years ago I had one stolen & they re-painted it & used it for a garage sale sign. I called the cops & took the sign as you could see my name under the spray paint.

No but I don't have the really fancy ones.

 People will steal anything just because they can.

They haven't.  I do pick them up right away.

I love seeing FSBO signs that are obviously spray-painted over some Real Estate Company name.

We have had Home For Sale directional signs stolen. We won't put them out any more unless the Seller insists and is willing to pay for them.

Sometimes the City takes them if you leave them out longer than you are suppose to.  Had a for sale sign stolen by some kids, and a homeowner called to tell me where to find it.

Yes!  That's why I use the cheap generic ones now.

School kids will take them, people who are doing yard sales will take them, the city will take them, other realtors will take them.

OH signs can be used for garage sale by home owners....

Often unprofessional agents flip the signs over, or turn them the wrong direction.....  Can not tolerant competition.
