No, but my business would be my least concern if I have a medical situation. My family is always #1 and I hope, I do not have a chance to stress them out.

It would depend on how incapacitated I was, and for how long. Anything can be accomplished in the short term but for longer, I'm not so confident! My next question is "Would that be my concern if my health was in jeopardy?"
Hmmmmm, let me get back to you.
PS I'm glad you're recovering well and will soon be able to Spring Forward!!

Paul,
My exceptional broker associate Kim Gaston has kept my business running while I was in the hospital. I’m well covered.

Paul, I'm thinking not. In a crunch Liz could get back to being much more active with our business, but a lot of the stuff I do on a daily basis is outside of her expertise (the websites, social media, the patio home niche, etc.).

Thankfully, YES ! I have a great support staff and additional Mortgage Loan Originators with the bank that can step in to cover my area if I have a medical absence.
Got my fingers crossed I don't have to test that theory any time soon !

Depends on how significant and for how long. I have a number of colleagues I have called on for coverage in the past

That is the ultimate goal in building a business we can eventually walk away from.

Maybe, it would depend on what was going on at the time. Will have to make that part of my emergency plan!
1,116,219
Probably not, if it was something major or long term that would be cause for concern. If it was a fairly minor problem with a reasonably short recovery period, I think it would be okay.

Paul I wish you a full speedy recovery.. And thank you for a great provocative question. I have a partner ( my wife) and a full time assistant and a few agents in my office assist me with my over flow. I have an excellent manager who still knows the boots on the ground business,,,
For me yes.. But for many folks , this is a solitary profession and I am afraid they do not.

Luckily, I too have many REALTOR friends that would help me if needed. Hope you are quick on the mend!

Hope you're healing and that your business is going strong. It's important to have the time to recuperate properly. D

Unless you have a partner that you share everything with on a daily basis I'm not sure you can say yes. Passwords to update websites, email passwords, etc. Is all of that shared?

First of all, I hope you are feeling better, and healing quickly Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington!! That would be an interesting situation for us as a "Team". If I had a medical situation, Roger would be just fine - if he had a medical situation, me, not so much. There are certain situations that I could handle with no problem (lots of confidence!), certain situations that I could work through (some confidence!), and certain situations that I have not yet been a part of (with help I could work through them).

oh, yes....and if someone in MY office has surgery, I would volunteer to market for them....I did that with one member, and she NOW has a place on the first page for a "Free Market Analysis in Franklin MA"....I laugh everytime I see it.... I should give lessons on how to shoot yourself in the foot....I tell her that all the time!! and I know she was VERY APPRECIATIVE....

Interesting question that everyone should ask themselves and honestly answer. I need to do a better job at this.
Paul -- I hope you're on the road to a full and speedy recovery. Glad to see your business is running well in the meantime.

No.
I'm having trouble finding anyone I can rely on without huge price tags.

No sir, I'm the only broker right now in my agency that is willing to take on the job.

Good morning Paul. No one could do my business as good as I can, but if required, my two assistants could fill in for a while.

Yes. That's one reason I made the change to a team model a few years ago. Backup is crucial for my business.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington - great question! And answer is 'NO' - sadly.

Absolutely. Each time I've had to be away for extended periods (though none of them were personal illness except a week I was out from surgery), but when my grandmother got ill and passed and when my husband and daughter each had major surgeries I was out as long as needed with nothing but cornerned phone calls asking if there was anything I could do.

Our office is really like family and we help each other out in good times and bad... my business would be in good hands... and everyone would pitch it to help...

Paul,
We have such a great team. As Patricia Kennedy mentioned do you have new bionic knees? A
3,764,341
Paul, I heard through the RainLine that you have new bionic knees. When I got mine, I had terrific support from my colleagues, and it made all the difference.

For how long? What if you were sick for a year. Would you still have a business?

I have someone (someones) to handle it when I go on vacation and the same persons would keep it going it I had a medical issue.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington I don't think so. Very interesting question.
2,234,865
Yes...in my office we all take care of business for each other when it's needed.
3,386,558
Absolutely. I have a handful of top agents in the industry that would help me in a heart beat.

Oh yes, I can related to this...from when I broke my foot (and couldn't drive). You'll get through it. So glad you have things in place. I had one of my assts drive me places (and my mom helped, too).
