whenever I listed a resale home, I had an extra key made....one was in the lockbox and the other was carried with me in my pocketbook on a ring with other keys that were all labeled....there were too many listings to have something like that happen and waste time getting in...

I did that not long ago, but luckily the garage door had a key pad, and the seller had never changed the default code. I punched in 0000 and nothing happened. Then I tried 1234 , hit enter, and the garage door opens!

Not with buyers but I locked myself out of the house on tour. 10am & no one is around in this area with large lots & the front door closes & locks right behind me!

Went to the neighbors (plural) because my cell phone was also in the house! I called the office & they gave me a one day code to get back into the house! The people thought I was nuts but they also thought an axe murderer probably wouldn't be in a suit.

Fortunately, I have not done that yet Fred Griffin.  During an Open House, another realtor had locked their e-key in the house, and they came over to see us.  Roger went over to use the Lockbox at that house, and to let him back in his house!  I don't believe any clients were privy to this situation.

Yes! The door was so old I was actually able to slide my credit card and unlock it-yikes! Another time I somehow lost the key in the house. I had to go out a self-locking back door and call the agent. Thankfully I knew him well.

I did late fall.    Did not know if the side door closed, it locked, and worse yet, they had told us to remove our shoes.    Luckily we left the front door unlocked, and the husband walked barefoot to the front door and let us back in.

A Realtor lost the keys to one of my listings.  I had to crawl through the window to get in.  The neighbors who summer here from another country and do not speak English stood on their porch and shook their heads. I had to replace all the locks.

HA, YUP. I called the locksmith and paid for a re-key, then brought the key to the listing agent with apologies and a copy of the paid invoice. She didn't have an extra key which was pretty dumb on her part. My listings, I always have a stash key for in case someone loses or locks key in. The buyers were not serious. I hope the agent copied the key!
