Good morning Kara. The desire to continue buying real estate.

I was consultant for several investors and acted on their behalf for several purchases. Decided it was smarter for me to be making those commissions!

i got into the industry by complete accident 23 years ago when i wanted to buy a rental property.  Then I sold 3 open houses 3 weekends in a row and was hooked.

I love helping people, I love houses, house plans and decorating and I love the flexibility it allows.

Frustrated in my corporate job.  Friend's family owned a brokerage and suggested I might like it.  Read an investment / self help book while on a forced, use your vacation or loose it time off period.  I left that corporate job 2 years later.

My grandma (Realtor for 50 years)  really sold me on it, she talked about how it was in the 1950's-1970's and I remember the 70's version of her as a Realtor. Handshakes & martinis back then. Now it's paperwork and lattes.

So as a third generation Realtor in this family Kara Pagliarulo , I never stood a chance...oh I tried, but in the end, well it's 17 years later and I still have fun with it.

Being my own boss

To be my own boss plus I love Real Estate.

I've spent a good part of my life working hard for other people and making them money. One day I decided it was time to work hard for me. 

I had also purchased two properties and neither one of the transactions went smoothly, and I think the agents could have done a much better job. I thought I could do better than them and really help people. So I got my license. 

I couldn't get a real job!

Flexible hours

It sounded interesting and I liked that I could flex my schedule around my daughter's schedule.

Mom.   She got tired of hearing me complain about my double digit, negative amortization loan.   She told me she didn't want to hear about it any more unless I was going to do something about it.

Well, here I am 30 plus years later still helping people NOT get caught up in bad mortgages.   Mom's legacy continues.   

Working with Roger, as part of 'Team Angeloni', Kara Pagliarulo.  He has always encouraged and supported me in different endeavors, and when he needed the help in return, I knew it would be interesting.  I knew it would be another 'Adventure in Life', was fine with potentially working 7 days a week, and knew I would learn 'patience' when working with difficult people!

Fame and Fortune!  LOL.  I loved working in commercial real estate, it was a time of great development in Los Angeles, and we were on the leading edge of finding land and buildings to develop, and finding office and retail space for the next new foods, technology, etc...A

It was a career where I could be the driver and help people as much as I wanted.

A passion for real estate and the desire to control my time and income.

Very simply, I was broke. That was 1989.

 It was a good fit. I can employ all of the talents I have learned through life.

I do not believe, I was very motivated my first years, since I really did not know what i was doing. Now, satisfied clients, closed escrows, and paychecks are good reasons to look forward.

My wife was looking to go be a professor at some small colleges across the country. Real estate is the most portable business.

An alternative to practicing law.

The desire to eliminate domestic and international air travel 2 to 3 times per week as part of my "routine"...

I didn't want to return to the corporate world after we moved back to the USA from overseas and I wanted to do something more entrepreneurial without the hassle of having to open my own business with bricks and mortars and employees.
