Well, the overwhelming response is the smartphone, and I can't say I argue with any of the the responses. But let me break it down a bit and get Old School on everyone...Electricity. That's the one technology I couldn't live without, while running water comes in very strong as well.

I know that is a bit of Devil's Advocate answer, but the phones wouldn't be manufactured or charged if it weren't for electricity.

I run my business from my phone. I can do 80% of it from there, so I'd have to say my phone. If the MLS will properly work on a smart phone I'd be 90% there. I still insist on reading all escrow-based docs on a computer screen or hard-copy though.

My reading glasses.  Those are the one thing I can not do without. Can't read a thing without them, including my beloved i phone screen.

Not something I like to admit but the ONE time I accidentilly left my cell phone behind while meeting a buyer at a listing was a nightmare.... I ended up being 20 mins late because I managed to get lost,  finally after finding the home, I couldn't get inside it.  It was on a non MLS lockbox, I attempted to get the code by borrowing my clients cell phone with only to get the listing agents VM.  It was a rough day.....Thank god for the internet!!

My brain is my most useful piece of technology.

My Smart Phone. Before that it was my toll free pager. My cell phone didn't always get a signal but my pager always worked. I didn't give it up till cell service improved.

Technology wise - the internet! Wealth of useful information! 

It has to be the phone... you can literally do everything with your smart phone...even TALK to PEOPLE!!

The Internet connection . . . without that, where would we be? Oh yeah, 1982.

It is a simple answer.... the phone... whether it is a smart phone, digtial, or land line ... we need that communication line open all the time!!  As I have read a few comments, here.... brokers have gone "crazy" when they have left their cell phones behind!!  You may not know where your kids are, but you do know where your smart phone is.  Recession proof... why are you not tapping into that income....hmmmmm??

Everyone seem to say their phone. True. You can get people to call you at the office, but one thing? But think about not having a... computer... at all....

Cell phone.  Everyone wants answers ASAP.  Plus it's capable of so many functions.
