That's a listing agent sticking their neck WAYYYY out and may be 'steering'.
I would tell the prospect that WE don't determine what is 'safe', but they may speak to the local police about historical data if they have further interest in the property.

I might suggest to the broker that they have a talk with the listing agent - that is a loose cannon waiting to self destruct - sometimes new agents just don't know what they don't know and they need help.  We have all been there doing something stupid. Well - at least I have - maybe I have gotten everyone else's share of stupidity on activerain so you guys could just be very smart!

I see agents using terms, phrases they shouldn't on mls. If I know them I will text / call only because I don't want them to get in trouble.  Working with buyers, I will tell them to check out the neighborhood, contact local police dept. or google the area.

They should know better than to use terms like that. That's one reason brokers should review what their agents put into the mls. I don't have time to monitor what other agents write.
