I eat farm-to-table organic food. I lift weights, then I run five miles. I drink pure spring water and protein-powder milkshakes. I do deep-breathing exercises.
Then the alarm clock goes off and wakes me from that dream. I get out of bed, and go to work!

My evil machine is parked in front of the tv and it attempts to kill me while I catch up on whatever I've recorded from when I didn't have time to watch. I miss being out with my dogs every morning but I'm not ready for another as yet; their loss is still too painful.
I make a point of reading non-business books each day as well and since Christmas I've reread all of Ernest Hemingway's treasures and am now on my bazillionth time reading East of Eden. That keeps my brain in a peaceful state.

Spending time with family and friends. You need to take time for yourself, so find ways of making your days shorter. If you work 12-14 hour days, you don't have time to spend the money.

Lunapie takes me for a walkie at least 1x/day.
I ride my bike at least 30-45 min a day - 6 - 10 miles.
And we love being outdoors . . . it's 90 today and just fired up the spa and got the evap cooler going and cleared patio for BBQing . . .
Life at the River does not suck.

Paul,
I have worked “under the gun” forever. I do try to take care of myself. What helps the most is some downtime. I also share the dream of Fred Griffin :)

Hi Paul, simply put yes. I have always maintained some sort of daily exercise program-mostly swimming and or the gym. I go a minimum of 5 X per week. I also have a heated pool out back so I swim everyday. Plus I never really sit still for long. You must make and take the time to keep the engine fine tuned so it runs optimally!

Good morning Paul. My wife and I eat the right foods for us and don't usually overeat. As far as the exercise part, usually 5-6 days a week, 30 to 45 minutes, cardio half the time, weights the rest.

When I'm stressed I do nothing but read. Am a huge fan of Historical Novels, especially Philippa Gregory's books (she's very prolific!). When I'm feeling good about everything, I either walk and hour, or swim laps for an hour Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, Broker, Tacoma Washington!!

Paul,
We have ourselves scheduled 3 days a week for a 75 minute yoga class. And on the weekends, we try to make one more. We both read rather than watch TV and tape shows we like for later. A

I like going to the gem. It's good for me in many ways. Hard to think about real estate, people or other commitments while concentrating on my zumba routine. Plus I enjoy this group of friends. I unwind in the late evenings surfing online, facebook and active rain. Schedule time for yourself, I usually keep Wednesdays for fun / lunch with friend/ take lunch to grand kid at school / shopping just some me time!

Yes. I spent two hours in the gym today. Shoulders, Triceps and HIIT cardio. Yesterday evening I did a workout at home. I try to do something 5 days per week. Sometimes it's a hike, sometimes the gym. It's 87 and sunny here today, great day for anything!

Long hours and a lot of stress can take it's tool. I'm learning to deal with that and to get out and do more for myself. I'm trying to do more to combine business with pleasure.
My dog is really helping me with that. We just had another session at the local track and I met someone I don't recall. He knows me as a REALTOR®. That's great. His little dog loved my big dog, and they played well together. He also saw me cleaning up after other dogs that had been there. I like to keep the area clean. He told me how much he respected me for doing that. I plan to get out more with Lucky and to enjoy the weather and have a great time and network all at the same time. The exercise is good for me, too, and should help keep me healthy.

I do my best to meditate or nap 20-30 minutes a day. When I am truly overwhelmed I try to schedule coffee or lunch with a friend. I dislike the cold weather so tend to hibernate and not take great care of myself in the winter. When it is warm I recharge by going outside and gardening a bit, taking a walk, or sitting in the sun.

I do try and exercise regularly. I try to maintain a routine where by at a certain time each day work and phones are turned off. Hit up a movies on an afternoon from time to time. And each day I decompress by watching that day's edition of General Hospital, which I record, and which I've been watching since 1963.
