My head scratch is with the seller but that too, will pass and it does. All who travel the earth, should come into the bounty of it fair & square. Let it be so

Alan May depends on who the competition is.
I still will hope I get the listing when it does not sell! Not that I want the colleague to fail.

I always follow the direction because there's an investment already spent that I would love to retrieve. I wish them good luck but know the challenges they face and will strive to get back in the game on the next go around if possible.

I don't have the time or inclination to watch it. It does happen and I want to focus on more positive thoughts.

Depends on the circumstances. If I see the listing was bought by allowing an exagerated list price I of course I watch closely hoping it does not sell. Showing my bad side there. If it does sell it means, not only did I loose the listing I did a poor job in price evlauation as well. For the most part though I do not wish another bad. Too much to do rather than focus on negative. Good question Alan. Mark

Have not had this situation in a while, but years ago I did watch the listing, and it did sell quickly but for a lower price.
1,503,028
I ask the seller what I could have done better to win the listing (for professional growth). Other than that, I don't pay it any mind. If it didn't happen, it wasn't meant to be.
3,345,221
I do not follow it .... I have better things to do with my time even if that means I am reading a book. If I do not get the listing then I really don't care. Period.
1,209,215
I do neither. I ask the seller for honest feedback in hopes of bettering myself for the future.
We had a stretch last summer where we had 8 relocation listing appointments in 9 days. We only got 4 of the listings. It was bittersweet, but we learned a lot about ourselves during that little listing bender.

I don't wish my competitor ill, nor do I wish them luck. But I do follow their progress in selling and get secret delight when I see them having problems selling a home they overpriced to get the listing. I do wish the seller luck and tell them to feel free to call me if the home doesn't sell. (I've had those calls any number of times of the years.)

I wish the seller good luck and to call me first if anything changes. Is that hoping they fail?
2,538,633
Good morning Alan. When I was in the business, I would not follow the status, but would always wish the seller the best of luck with the sale, as I was not willing to burn a bridge.
2,759,812
The best thing would be to congratulate the other person on their success and move on.

I concentrate on finding a buyer and show the seller why they should have chosen me to begin with.

I have seen this one time, and boy! it was a Blessing in disguise Alan May!! Hated to lose a client, even though we knew how difficult he was . . . a few weeks later, we heard back from him, and he was complaining about the realtor that he chose! And, I would never hope that any competitor fails, as I think there is enough work out there, even in slow times, for those of us that continue to work hard.
